I'm pretty sure that level ten will not make the gun more accurate/consistent, but it eliminates all chopping if you set it up correctly.

It won't make you shoot faster or anything, but it might (not sure) lower the shots per tank you get (can fireblade or zedaine or someone confirm this).

The bad things about the level 10 from what I know, makes it so you can't drain the tank as well. When you get to about 500-600 psi on your tank you wont be able to shoot. I usually get some bolt stick first (have to push bolt back into position) then I can't shoot anymore. This isn't a problem for most speedballers because they usually fill their tanks up when they get to around 1000 psi.

Well, you won't chop any paint.

You may see two minor gains in performance.

A) The level 10 bolt is a fair bit lighter than the level 7. As a matter of fact,it's one of the lightest complete reciprocating masses of any paintball gun there is.Therefore you should see a some reduction in felt recoil of the marker when going from L7 to L10.

2) The O.D. of the L10 has been increased a bit over the L7 bolt,so you should see less blowback over the L7.

The negatives :

A) The level 10 requires you to run a higher valve pressure. This will cause your marker to stop shootong, due to lack of air pressure, earlier than with the L7. Meaning, when you air tank starts to run empty, your marker will quit firing sooner.Depending on how the L10 is set up,inconsistant cycling of the marker will begin under ~800psi.

2) Due to the design of the Level10,air pressure if vented during the firing stroke of the gun. This will cause you to use more air overall. (less totol shots per tank)The amount you lose wll depend on how often you 'pinch' balls (anti-chop working) during that tank of air.If you pinch quite a few,you will definately see a noticable loss of shots. If you rarely pinch balls(would be chops),you will not see as great a loss overall.

Regardless of either, the Level 10 will cost you shoots per tank.It just varies as to how many.

its definately a good investment, the only reason u wouldnt want one is if you have eyes and want to save on efficiency.

I definately think so.

Once it's set up right, your completely chop free and trouble free.I almost never use the ACE on my Xmag.I can't say that with an eye system.I have break beam eyes (as opposed to reflective) on a number of markers and while thats a great system,it's not perfect.Eyes can get out of alignment, they can get dirty, they can get 'blinded' by paint broken for other reasons. For instance,on my Alias w/ frenzy,if the eyes fail for what ever reason the board defaults to 10bps.Trust me,that sucks worse than a chopped ball.On either my Shocker or Imp w/ vision(reflective eyes),if the eye fails because you have a color paint it doen't 'see' or they get 'blinded' by paint from a barrel break or your getting sunlight into the feedneck or....whatever.....you can't shoot at all.Talk about suck.

The other issue with Mags is they 'are' more apt to break paint than other markers (no,it's not a myth )for 2 reasons.Chopping is just one of them and is simply related to ROF which until reccently was far greater than anything else out there and the available loaders. The other is the initial speed of the bolt. The Level 7 bolt,it was eventually found out,has such a great bolt speed initially that it will/may crack or otherwise damage the next ball waiting to fall in the breach as it passes under it.You then end up breaking that 'next' ball on the next shot regardless of ROF.That occurance does vary from gun to gun but is pretty much why alot of people have had such a bad time with mags. The main function of the Level 10 bolt is to have a much slower initial bolt speed which eliminates that issue entirely.

2 fixes for the price of one....neat huh?

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Jay.

I have shot both.....non-lvl 10 for a long time.....

over the past 6 years I have owned numerous mags....from the basic 68 mag to a decked microRT to my lvl 10 hypermag I have now

anyway on with the jabber

I never really had problems with my non lv 10
probably because i am so used to shooting a mech cocker.....so i'm used to pulling the trigger very far....lol

but I have noticed that when you do come close to shortstroking, the lvl 10 seems to respond to it a lot faster than a normal mag. in other words it doesn't skip a beat with lvl10

cliffnotes:

LVL 10 is worth it but not neccesary....I shot mags for a long time without it
