Would it work?

i bought a quick disconnect from my local paintball supplier, and though tthat maybe it would fit on an air compressor to fill up my HPA tanks.. would it work?... has this been brought up 6 bagillion times?.. if so... what horsepower or air supply size would i need to have?... i could save a lot on air.. and actually play at my field...

Sounds dangerous to me...

..but then again I don't have a clue how you would do this/set this up. (which is why I wouldn't personally mess with it)

Unless you have an air compressor that compresses to 3000-4500 psi you aint filling any tanks.(Keep in mind these compressors costs 1000's of dollars)

i woudnt even try. the amount of money it costs to buy and run the air compressor would be much more than paying to get your tank filled

do they even MAKE 1000 psi air compressors?... even if it was only that much... you could still just keep refilling it.. better than driving 30 miles to get it filled for 5 dollars.. gas costs more than that

Well i think that my compressor will do it and i have had it for years so its more then paid for. I will look it over and give it a shot i always thought about that. then i wouldnt have to use the gas or the $$ is cost to fill it.

Imursuperman142.. what i did was.. buy a quick disconnect from your local paintball store.. and buy both parts (it should come with both parts).. and then get an adapter.. or just screw it on the outlet.. and then use the quick disconnect on the nipple of the tank.. then.. if everything goes right. it should fill right up... hopefully that'll work.. i bet i could pick up a booster on ebay or something..

Different disconnects have different pressure ratings.

The ones commonly used "downstream" in paintball guns is USUALLY RATED between 1500-3000psi. (Brassed, Alum, and nickeled brass).
To use them upstream to fill HPA tanks is suicide if you don't know what they are rated for.

The only ones safe for filling HPA are SS fittings. Even then, your compressor will not fill past 200psi. It would be a waste of your time.
It would be EASIER to ask your local fire department to fill tanks. They usually have a compressor/booster setup.
