compressed air?

hi im fairly new to paintball but i have a few questions. my dad own a building company and they have large air compressors and such. could i fill up a nitro tank or co2 tank with compreesed air? not sure if it is too safe so im just asking. also some people say that co2 is inconsistant on the psi? ive used co2 and it seemed to stay consistent every shot. just a thought.

Co2 tanks CANNOT be filled with Compressed Air. The two gasses are not interchangeable. Don't think about it

You could fill an HPA tank with an air compressor, but it will need to be able to fill about 3,000psi. or 4,500psi. depending on what your tank can hold. Those compressors are usually a lot of money, most normal ones only fill a couple hundered psi.

no you can't fill your hpa tank, most likely ur dad has air compressors that fill to ~128psi because that is good range for pnumatic nail guns etc. but you would need a diving shop and a s.c.u.b.a. tank if you really want to fill your own tanks. but then again s.c.u.b.a. tanks are only usually up to around 3000psi because of the regs (don't need to make them withstand higher pressures when they don't need to, its just cheeper) to let you be able to breath the air underwater

Its all a matter of PSI.
Most "shop" compressors, BOTH BIG AND SMALL only go up to 200psi.

HPA tanks need special "industrial" compressors that can go up to 3000-5000psi. Common uses are for Scuba tanks and firestations.

CO2 is can be very consistent. Regulated CO2 is extremely consistent. Running liquid is also consistent. You just have to know its limitations.

HAha, I walked into my highschool shop for the first time this year... So I'm going to grab some lumber form the back adn I pass this 6 foot high like 30+ cubic foot compressor resovoir.. And im thinking.. Dude I can fill my HPA.

I ask him how much it filled to and if he'd let me fill my pb tank.. He's like 200PSI, and yes.

I laughed adn he was amazed when I told him I needed at least 1000psi just to get my mag to cycle the way I like it.

lol. its so funny that car tires have a max of like 35-40 psi(correct psi), and shop compressors to run big equipment is only 200. and these are the things that help keep the world going. but here we are, the paintballers, and we need at least 3k for a full fill. ohh man thats backward.

Ya, I was walking through Home Depot and there was a huge air compressor. I thought it would fill a lot, I went up to it and the gauge said like 200psi. I was like, ok...
