compressor set-up????

when using say a 4500psi capable compressor, can you use it by itself to fill tanks ...because i saw a set-up where it was being fed by a bulk tank then through the compressor to the smaller tanks...?????

can a compressor be used by itself to fill, or what is the proper setup

thanks!!!!!!

Yes it can fill smaller tanks. A paintball tank is a smaller version of the bulk tanks they have on the compressors. Just make sure you don't overfill.

i know that....my ? is can a compressor by itself fill 3000psi, and 4500psi tanks with out that bulk tank feed. or does the compressor just boost the air from the bulk tank to fill the smaller ones.

what you seen was a booster pump. there is a couple of boosters that can fill without a supply tank, most cant. what they are good for is taking a 2400psi nitrogen tank, and boosting it to 4500psi. a new booster pump runs in the $1500-$2500 range. then you will need a couple of supply tanks. leasing is the best way to go on those. this is a very expensive setup. if you are looking to do it yourself stick with using scuba tanks. its MUCH safer and cheaper.

Sorry to rob your thread but i thought i would post it here instead of making another one. I work at a inspection center and they have a HUGE compressor. Im pretty sure it can pump out 4500psi. They have hoses that they hook up to the air guns and such to take tires and stuff off. My questions is if the compressor is set to 4500PSI, could i just pop the hose on my tank and fill it until it hits 4500psi on my tank and take it off?

just because a compressor is huge doesnt mean it pumps 4500. most air tools run at 120-150 psi. if the compressor does pump that high you could with the right fittings.
