omg i think i killed my hpa tank...
Okay, it's really not that bad.. but it was a good attention grabber...
I have a 68/4500 Pure Energy carbon fiber tank which i bought used off of ebay which came with my gun, a 2k4 autococker. When I got it from the mail, the tank worked fine, the gun worked fine, except the guage didn't work on the tank, so I sent it into PE and got it fixed for 20 bucks and shipping.
Well, I'm a guy who likes to tinker, so i stripped my gun down, looked at all the shiny parts, and put it back together. However, when putting it back together, i had to retime it, and although I can eventually stumble through the process, my tank began to leak out of the pin valve, and the guage on the bottle stopped working, again, (got stuck at 1500 psi). I can't find any damaged O rings, no visible damage or scratches anywhere on the tank.
My question is, what could be making my tank leak?, do i need to do any regular maintenance on the tank itself, ie lube orings? and, can i replace the pressure guage on the tank myself, or do i have to send it back to get it fixed again?
Thanks for any help.

is the tank leaking all by itslef, of when it's on the gun? U could fix the gauge if u have some red loctite to ensure it doens't fly off when u fill it again.

yes, when it's off the gun, it's leaking...
Will most local paintball stores carry new guages? and locktite can be found at hardware stores?

yeah, u want red locktite, this is the heavy duty stuff that u have to heat up to get off again. Pretty much ensures its on there good. U might need to special order a gauge, shops will probably only carry lower gauges like 0-750psi at the most. And i don't think they could take the high pressure.
but i have no real experience here, just some educated guesses on the gauge.
remember don't take off the reg when the tank is pressurized! safty first.

its best not to use any lube on tank regs. espeically oil! chances are that the oring on the pin valve is damaged. if you local shop cant repair it contact PMI and they can.
