Question about filling HPA...
Lately, I've been looking to get a new gun such as the Ion, and everyone tells me that you almost need to use HPA. But, there is not a place around here that fills compressed air tanks. My dad work at the Fire Dept. and they have a compressor they use to fill their are tanks. The problem is, it will only go to 2250 psi, where the lowest pressure i have found in tanks is 3000 psi. Will the one at the Fire Dept. fill the HPA tanks ok and still get a reasonable amout of shot out of it if it is only filled to 2250 psi?? Thanks!

You aren't going to get a full days worth of play... Most fields fill HPA.

There's not a field around here.....I just play with about 12 friends every weekend for a couple of hours(anywhere from 400-700 paintballs).

I would say that a 2200 psi fill should get you at least that many shots.

If you're going to do this, and really feel the need for an ion to play outlaw, there's an option.
Fill the tank at the Firestation. If you find yourself pressed for air after a while of doing this, you can get a scuba tank and a fill station. Then fill both of your tanks, when you run low take a fill off of the scuba tank.

johnboy, why did u get a halo b for a pirahna?
|
....no....an A-5 will not shoot over 13.3 bps because thats how fast the cyclone feeds.......
....2200 psi will get u around 400 shots i believe.....or u could just stick an anti-syphon in your CO2 and pray that it doesn't **** up your internals

We still haven't established what is wrong with the gun you have.
The A-5 is just another blowback semi, like the one you have but in another shape.

The gun I have now seems incosistant and the velocity will not go high enough, but I have bought stiffer velocity springs. Also, it chops a little more than i would like it to(thats why i want a gun with eyes). An Ion, from what i have heard, would be better in just about every way compared to the gun i have now.

It would be. We're just saying that for outlaw, it seems excessive to us.
And about the velocity thing...you mean over a chronograph right. You can't eyeball velocity.

You really shouldn't get an electronic marker for outlawball.. I mean you can if you want, but faster guns means more paint.
I suggest a phantom. It can be run on CO2 or HPA. Its a pump marker. You can find yourself playing (and eliminating people,a nd having fun) with only one tank and 500 shots will last you for 6 hours.
Or, you can go thr route of a mag. www.TheMagSmith.com. For only $450, you can get yourself a nice, fast mag. You'll be able to take it to about 12, maybe 13bps stock, probably closer to 15 with a ULT (And this all depends on how well you can walk the trigger). It will require HPA, but its pros are unbeatable.
Its fast (valve can cycle at 26bps without shootdown, people have taken it faster then that), its light (mine weighs in at 2 pounds, 1.6 ounces), its nice looking (with literally thousands of combinations of colors, styles, and functions), its sturdy (you can shoot it underwater, and it will tsill work. Its really a workhorse).

Actually, I'm not the only one with an electronic trigger that I play with. There are people with Tippy's with electronic triggers, Imagines, and WGP Trilogy's that I play with. I don't exactly think a pump would cut it because we do play speedball sometimes(about every time we play). A mag is out of my budget unless I can find it cheaper than $450. I'm not sure if we will every really start playing organized paintball or not, but there is a place about 40 mins away that has some small tourneys and stuff.

i say find 2 used but nice crossfire 48/3000 for about 40 bucks each. Then fill each one and u have 4400 psi and that will be just as good. just a thought.

Tippies with electronic triggers suck, so do imagines and wgp trilogies. So do ions, imo.
Right now, work on your hpa system BEFORE you get a new marker. That way you'll be all set for when you have to get a new gun.
In the meantime, really contemplate if your friends guns are good, or are they just better then yours. Theres a difference between a good gun, and a gun thats better then yours.
