I know, but im gettin an N2 tank and mypal said get a tank cover. He said it could explode if i hit the ground. I didnt get that but, he also said they will slip off your shoulder on yer jersey. Can anyone tell me if any of theses things he told me are correct?

If you are getting a carbon fiber tank and not a steel tank, a tank cover can be a good thing. It keeps the tank protected from stuff that might normally scratch it up. If your tank gets to big of a dent or scratch in it, it can no longer be safely fillled.

How much are you paying? Is it new? From what I've noticed, if it's under $100 new, it's steel. Even under $150 for some. You'll be able to tell when you get it for sure. I would still get the cover just because it will protect it from scratching. Steel will scratch, too. Just not as much as the carbon fiber.

They are not slipery just go to your local store and feel the dye ones which are the best and i mainly get them because the looks but it does not slide around on you

i have a steel 68 ci 3000 psi tank 5 years old i droped it just yesterday and nothing happend it just made me piss my self

Do not go with a cheap tank. The 68 4500 carbon fiber is really nice. It will also hold twice as more.

For a 48/3k, you do not need a tank cover. A tank cover is a good idea if the tank is slipping though.
