My friend said that my air compressor would be able to air up a CPA tank. It is one that airs up car tires, bike tires, basketballs etc. Is this true?
thx

not at all. that doesnt nearly put out enough pressure to fill your tank. if the pressure was that high, itd blow your tires, considering they only go to 30ish psi.

regular compressors only go up to MAYBE 350 psi if you're licky.. i usually see em around 180-210psi... like mentioned... a compressor like the one you'd need would be extremely expensive

Here's what you need:
http://www.americanairworks.com/cas-comp.html
Now, having seen those prices would you rather pay $3 per fill, or pay well over $7000 for an air compressor so you could fill your own tank, and have the compressor pay for itself in 6 or 7 years?

wow...if you have a 68/45, you might fill up twice a day at 3 dollars a fill(just an estimate) so thats 6 bucks a day...it would take 500 days of paintball for you to think "damn i should have bought the compressor!"...of course thats unless you plan on making your own field, which has many other costs...and legalities...basically we're saying
just get air at the field

While what you say is true, from what my customers are saying is that you don't buy a compressor because it is cheaper. You get one to make sure that you are getting - Clean dry filtered air that won't gum up valving
- A full fill instead of just a partial bottle
- A slow, safe fill that does not damage the fiber wrap or the valving
- Fills for the whole family or team (which can add up if you get stuck with the bill) any time
On average, it costs about half to three quarters as much as most fields charge per fill, but compressor owners have them for peace of mind.

lol, old thread..
I'd only get a compressor if 1. I was rich, and 2. if I was opening a shop/field.
