Angle the tank on my tippmann 98c

I was looking at stocks, remotes, odd tanks, etc to create a more ergonomic feel. But the I realized that all I needed to do was change the angle of the tank from sloping slightly downward to going straight back.

I like the idea of using the butt padd on the tank as a stock, but because on the 98c the tank slopes down slightly, I cannot comfertably see the sights or over the gun when the tank is on my shoulder.

Is there an accesory that will angle the part the tank screws into so the tank goes straigh back?

The part that the tank screws into is called an ASA - Air standard adaptor or air source adaptor.

The one on the 98C is angled to help with CO2, which is a liquid in its tank. The gas is near the top of the tank and that's normally what you want to feed the gun.

But to answer the question-
To make the tank go straight back with no angle I would replace the normal ASA with one like a unimount or any other type of ASA. A cheap "duckbill" will work well. You will likely need a new air like or some fittings.

Or, if you're feeling clever try this. Take some washers and take the ASA off of the gun. Shim it until it is level where you want it. It seems like this should work and is also cheaper.

Just buy a duckbill or if you want, a more expensive option: cp rail and on/off or a unimount.

I did not know it was angled for an actual reason. Will making it level affect performance?

When you start to take in a mix of gas and liquid you can get some pretty crazy velocity changes. You can probably get around this completly by using an anti-siphon tube installed in the tank.

It shouldn't make a huge difference, really.

How do the bottom lines attach? From looking at them, it looks like it screws into the bottom of the grip where the current asa is. And it seems like the tank would screw into the large hole at the end. But I do not see where the hose screws into. There is a hole on the side, but how do you get the hose to bend like that. Here is the image I am working from:

Lapco also makes a 7 degree wedge. Maybe that would be easier?
