I've been stumped.
Hey guys,
About approx. 3-4 weeks ago, my burst disk blew in the middle of the night on my PE 68/45. It was the 7.5k one and the tank was filled to about 3k at the time. I went to my proshop a few weeks ago and replaced the blown disk with a 7k one.
Yesterday I was getting ready to play, so I screwed in my tank into my Ion (keep in mind there was no air in the tank because I had not gotten air since I replaced the burst disk), walked over to the filling station. As soon as I pushed down a burst disk immediately blew. This time, it was the 1800 psi one.
I'm worried that something may be wrong with the regulator. What do you guys think I should do? I'm pretty sure I'm going to my proshop tomorrow to have them take a look at it but do you guys know what the cause is?

So the 7,500psi. rated burst disk blew, then the 1,800psi. rated burst disk blew when you were filling it?
Why in the hell would there be a 1,800psi. burst disk on your tank? The lowest tanks are rated for is 3,000psi.
I guess you just needed new burst disks. Did you get the tank used? I don't see how the reg on the tank could cause the burst disks to blow since the reg on the tank can't increase the pressure that is in the tank, lol.

well maybe the reg on the tank was screwed up so the psi could be much higher than it said on reg

Or the gauge could have been messed up...
And he said the tank was empty, and as soon as he began filling it, the second burst disk went out which means that's not the reason.

I believe that there is one burst disk for unregulated air and a second for regulated. The 1800 is for in case the reg breaks, you dont have 3000 PSI going into your gun/inline reg.
Have your shop take a look at it, but if the one burst disk was bad, then i wouldn't be surprised if the other one was too.

Yea, that's what I always thought. I took it into my shop yesterday and they didn't think anything was wrong with it (just crappy disks), I traded tanks with tippyninja who got it brand new, so I don't think anything's wrong with the reg.
