My ACI tank is acting up!

bought a tank from a friend, who got it from pbn.

Its an ACI Bulldog Fiber Wrapped 68/3000 with an adjustable (HP, LP) regulator.

Tank nneded to be hydro'd the day after i got it, (8/31/06) so i went down to the local shot to get it filled.

Got up to about 1800psi in and BAM, there goes one of the burst discs.

So i look at the burst disc, and it says 1800psi on, while the other one on the tank says 5k (5000 psi). Hmm. So i thought that could have been the problem until i got home and my Pure energy tank has one 1800psi burst disc on it. Odd. And i cannot change the burst discs myself because there are two massive gauges sticking out of the sides that touch right up next to the burst discs.

Any ideas? Should i go ahaed and hydro it and have them deal with it/replace it?

The burst discs are that way for a reason. The primary (5k) disk is for the tank, and keeps the tank itseld from failing in the event of an overfill. The secondary (1.8k) disk, is for the regulator. This way, if something in your reg fails, 4500psi doesn't enter your marker (that would be a bad thing). When you send your tank for hydro though, they are only checking the tank itself, not the reg. Many places however will check and rebuild your reg for an added cost. Also, aci tank regs have a reputation for suckiness.

American Paintball Tank Hydro Test

Talk to these guys. They're fast and cheap, and can probably fix your reg. I've used them before, and they've got a really quick turnaround for under $20.
