Rounded burst disk nut

Hey guys

I recently tried to get my tank filled, but then I was told by the guy that "He can't fill the tank because it was leaking everytime he tried." Mind you, this was at The Sports Authority so I'm pretty sure he didn't know much about paintball tanks and couldn't pinpoint for me where the leak was coming from.

Anyways, I went home to inspect the burst disk to see if that was the problem, and tried to remove it using the wrench. How can you guys do it with a small wrench?! There isn't much space between the disk and the cylinder. Well either way, I ended up now having a rounded burst disk nut...any ideas on how to remove it? Would pliers work?

Also, do you guys think there could be a problem with the pin valve? It seems to be functioning fine? When I push it up and down with a screw driver it seems normal.

Since the nut is now rounded, i would suggest a strap wrench. You can get one just about anywhere, and it should work on that. They might have used some sort of loc-tight on the nut so it will be pretty hard to break it. It's hard to say where the leak is comming from without pictures or having it infront of me. If the tank was able to be filled at all listen for any sounds comming from it, or use a drop of water on a spot where you think there might be a leak and look for bubbles. If the tank couldn't be filled at all i would have someone at a local proshop look at it or try to fill it.

for the burst disc, a strap wrench wont get small enough. When stuff like this happens, i use a small nail, or an allen wrench and put it through the holes in the burst disc as a "stop" for the wrench to keep it from sliding around the burst disc. Remove the burst disc and put a new one in before tryign to refill.

Caution: if there is ANY co2 in the tank when you are doing this, it will start venting gas once the burst disc loses its seal. Stop Turning the burst disc once it begins venting. you can continue removing it once the gas has stopped venting.

If the above fails you, you may want to try some vice grips (not the needle nosed variety )
