Actually yes technically, you can -- At 800 psi. You get like 4 shots per tank.. So it isn't worth it at all.

Explosion! Destruction! I say, we get a cheap CO2 tank, and a long, long, fill hose, and we stand back and let it strat to fill up, and watch it blow up! Then we all fall over laughing! JK!

Anyway.
Any Co2 tank can safely hold 1800psi. That is the max working pressure of any co2-rated object.
It was somewhat common for people to use co2 tanks, with special regulators, for HPA in the old days when real HPA tanks were crazy expensive.
However, the danger is, as you would expect, having it filled by someone who doesnt understand the 1800psi limit.

Any paintball field, most sporting goods stores like Gander Mountain, Dick's, Cabelas, and so forth.
Walmart has an exchange program- bring in an empty + a fee and they give you a new full one. Not sure if all areas do that or what.

Some people tell me their local hardware stores do it.
