depends what marker your' using. anything that uses an electro pneumatic system MUST use HPA(or VERY strictly regulated co2...it costs more to do this than to actually buy a hpa tank) If your'e using a spyder/spyder clone, or tippman, stick with co2, it's cheaper.
if you want more information, check the stickies (the top threads in this section.)

HPA
Pro:
-It is a warmer gas, and therefore it doesn't need to expand. This will increase marker performance in cold weather.
-It is a cleaner gas, and therefore will cause less clogs in your marker lines.
-It is highly efficient, and will cause less velocity drop-offs and spikes.
-It is usually free to fill at fields/tournaments.
Con:
-The tanks are more expensive.
-The bottles are bigger, and will take some getting used to.
CO2
Pro:
-The tanks cost less to purchase.
-The tanks are smaller, therefore are easier to handle.
Con:
-It is cold, and therefore requires time to expand. This creates the need for an expansion chamber for optimum performance. Also, since it is cold, it creates velocity drop-offs and spikes.
-When the tank is on the marker, and the marker is pointed towards the ground, liquid CO2 will enter the marker and build-up in the chamber. It will then expand and cause erratic velocities.
-It is very dirty, and therefore can cause clogs in your marker's lines.
After having experience with both gasses, I'd reccomend buying an HPA tank; even a Pure Energy Steel HPA tank (heavy and easily damaged) over CO2.

ok, but the only problem with that is i just paly intermediately out back woods ball. there are no courses or anything around where i live. so where could i buy it? does it cost more than co2? and (high pressure air) sounds like it just comes out of an air compressor.

it does come out of an air compressor, but the compressors cost $1500+.
you can buy a bulk CO2 tank and fill smaller tanks with it. the stickies should cover what you need to do that and how to as well.

I think will help you out quite a bit. it appears to be for HPA only though.

I have no idea what is needed to fill froma bulk co2 tank. Maybe you can ask whoever you know who fills it how they do it.

Using CO2 in your VS1 is fine, leave it like that and be happy unless you already have an HPA tank.
