My tank was filled after hydro expired, dangerous to use?

The obvious answer to this question is 'yes'. However, this tank has never been used before, it literally spent 5 years and 1 month sitting by itself in the original packaging.

Am I safe using the tank? It was filled without being properly checked. Its a 68/5000 PE tank, filled at 4500 PSI.

First off, are you reading the hydro date correctly? this thread explains them very well http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=2059688

If the hydro is truly overdue, empty it and ship it out for a hydrotest. While the quick answer is yes this is something you don't want to mess with or take a chance. The sheer energy stored inside that tank can send it through a wall and kill anyone in the next room.

also, do not fill from there anymore. If they can't take the time to ensure the safety of your tank that calls into question the safety of their own equipment.

Yeah, that's definetly out of hydro.

Like bobide suggested, I wouldn't fill from there anymore either. If they can't look at your label, who knows if their own equipment is out of date.
