spyder sonix

new to paintball, and i got a spyder sonix package it came with a co2. i think its perfect for me since i only play with friends in the neighborhood and only once or twice a month. but some of my friends are telling me that i should get a n2/compressed air tank for my gun. they complain alot about co2 and how it damages the marker and how it makes your shooting inaccurate. is this true? i did notice a change in the shooting today when i was out shooting in the backyard, the barrel was completly wet and the paint was flying all over the place. should i go ahead and purchase a compressed air tank for this type of gun?

it's not true for you spyder. Use co2 confidently, knowing it will do you no harm. it does make things cold, which would cause condensation on your barrel. simply buy a good squeegee and run it through when that happens.

For a spyder, the only thing co2 can really damage is your orings. which it is had to justify purchasing a $80-$200 hpa tank to save your $0.10 orings. The only advantage to using HPA in your situation is you may be able to get a few more shots off and since your not playing at a field, you will be able to fill it yourself with a scuba tank if someone has one. But CO2 is perfectly fine.
