Buying a scuba tank isn't a good deal, it's just better to rent the tank from a scuba shop. If you buy one then you incur into all the maintenance expenses, which can be expensive every so often. Instead, just rent, it's cheaper and the shop does the maintenance.

The only reason i'd buy a tank is if there's nowhere to rent it from a diving shop or paintball shop. But if you buy one you also have to think about filling the tank too, if there's places to fill it or having the equipment yourself to do it. Too complicated IMO if you can rent.

But by all means, if you want to buy it, go ahead. Either way you'll also need a nitrogen (or scuba) fill station for paintball.

You can usually get the tanks filled from a local fire department. Just get a hold of them and ask if they have the stuff to fill it. Other than that you will need the fill station as 2.0 said, and thats it really.

I own 3 of them. I got a good deal, 200 for 3 scuba tanks, fill station, 68/3000 and a 48ci steel tank.

as far as i know they only come in 3k, if you did have a 4500 all the air fill stations iv ever seen have a guage so just be sure not to over fill your tank and youll be fine, dont get anything before 1982, they are illegal to use

on another note iv heard a few conflicting stories that they dont need to be hydro tested, from what i was told because you are using them for paintball its considered industrial use unlike the tanks on our markers that are personal use, and anything considered industial doesnt NEED to be hydroed (i still got mine tested)

sorry to bring this back up, but scuba tanks no matter what they are used for have to be hydro tested. they also have to be visualy inspected once a year. without a current visul inspection tag and hydro date NO scuba shop will fill them. also never completely drain a scuba tank, always leave some pressure in it cause if you take it to be filled without any pressure in it, the shop will have to do a visual inspection before filling it and it is up to a $15.00 dollar charge for a visual inspection. i have family that owns a scuba shop so i do know what i am talking about.
