Gun and air trouble
hey everyone i just wanted to talk about some major problems with paintball where i live
i want a good gun such as a dye or bob long, but all i have near me is c02 .... ( i think )
so if you could (which i know good guns like that can't run on c02 ) tell me places that would have nitrogen or air of the same sort that those guns could run on....
honestly, i dont feel like driving 45 minutes away just to get my tank filled

2 palmers, and and anti-siphon is ideal
Scuba shops, fire departments, paintball pro-shops, welding shops, and possibly some others should have HPA fill stations

If your really desperate, pre nxt (03-06) shockers can be run off unregulated co2, although an AS tube would be best.

Vibe, SP1, and EOS can as well, all have the Max Flo R Vertical Reg that takes unregulated CO2 like a champ

You can always buy a scuba tank (*about $250.00 where i live*) and fill it at the place thats 45min awayand fill your own tank (*which is easy*) and by the time the scuba tank is empty it wont be a big deal to drive for 45min and get it filled...

Thats a pain, you have to pay for the tank fill and get the proper hoses and connections to fill the tank. Plus that initial 250 sure doesnt help. Your best bet is to either:
A) Get a co2 welcoming gun, as me and Azn stated,
B) Get it filled at your field when you get there?
C) Suck it up and drive.

How is investing in your own fill system more of a pain than driving nearly an hour for a single fill? You can get several fills out of even a small scuba tank and with an efficient highend you can get quite a few days of paintball after only one scuba fill. Compromising and buying a lesser marker like an EOS, Vibe or old Shocker isn't what he wants he wants a Bob Long or DM you may as well have told him to buy a Tippmann.
As for the stabs I'm a big fan of them but I wouldn't trust them enough with a $1000+ HPA only marker.
Your local fire department might be able to fill an HPA tank but most departments fill their own scuba tanks so if you have a scuba they might be willing to fill it for you. Also welding supply and dive shops can normally fill HPA tanks.

I'm wayyyyyy ahead of ya on that one
And it's not to say the an EOS or old Shocker can't be upgraded to be better. Personally, the DM8 and PM8 are over priced, and overrated, and so are most of Bob Long's products.

The SLG with an anti-siphon would be a decent setup.
