dont use 3n1 oil that will destroy your orings QUICK. use automatic transmission fluid, regular gun oil, i have herd of people using cooking oil but i dont know.

They recommend it so it'll destory your o-rings, and you'll have to buy new ones!

yes....its all a conspiracy against you....

edit:

Petroleum jelly is made from petrol...which is gas....which is corrosive.....which is what old school ballers use to get the oil based paint out of their overalls in the old days......but thats beside the paint

vaseline would ruin your gun. it would gunk it up and eat away at your orings more than 3-n-1 oil would, and come to think of it. i dont think 3n1 does eat away orings. they use it to lube stuff in an engine....you dont want it to eat away sealants in there...do you?

i have been working on paintball markers for close to 3 years now and i have never herd a manufactor that recommended 3n1 oil. i have however rebuilt serveral markers that have had 3n1 oil used on them.
vaseline works good for some things like a 3-way on a cocker. but it is to thick for most blow back markers.

paintbug, its not reccomended, but its told to be used if there is NO paintball oil left. its on old guns, not the new solenoid electro goodies. its in the manual for my F2 illustrator.
