anti-syphon tank???
for a silver bullet or electra dx would an anti-syphon tank be a good investment...what exactly does it do anyway?? Does it just make your marker safer for co2 use.?

It keeps the liquid Co2 out of your gun. This will aid in consistancy, and stop orings from popping. All in all its just better for the gun, but HPA is definately better. For those two markers, you dont HAVE to have anitsiphon but it helps.

I'm not sure about the silver bullet but the electra DX, with it's downangled ASA isn't going to need a tank with an antisyphon. The downangle of the ASA prevents liquid from leaving the tank since a properly filled tank is only partially filled with liquid. An Antisyphon will only help if you want to shoot at the ground or down a hill, but even then, while shooting down a steep hill an antisyphon will act as a syphon since all the liquid will be at the front of the tank.

Just so you know, an anti-siphon tube, which is found in anti-siphoned tanks, is a small piece of tube, that is bent upward at such an angle that will only allow for the gas form of Co2 to enter the marker through the valve of the tank, since when a Co2 tank is filled, it will always be mostly a liquid, hence the reason we call them 20oz. tanks, etc. Liquid Co2 is bad for alot of markers out there, and it can really do some damage to them over time, and especially electros for ebvious reasons.
If you want to get your current tank anti-siphoned, you would have to bring it to your local paintball shop, and have them do it. You will also need to bring your marker so they know what angle the tube needs to be at. They charge for the tube, and installation. Shouldn't be more than $20.
If you get the tank already with the tube in it, I'm not sure if you would need to bring it to a local shop to get it re-alligned. Anybody know?

It depends on how the ASA is threaded. Different ones will allow the tank to screw on to different amounts. I like threading my tank all the way on until it stops, but if your antisyphon is at the wrong angle after being screwed on all the way you can usually unscrew the tank a bit until it is lined up (pointing upwards in the tank) without leakage as long as the O-ring on the tank is in good shape. If you buy one that already has an antisyphon in it, hope that the person marked where the tube bends up on the tank so that you'll know how far to screw it on. If you buy a premade non factory installed one, make sure to have an airsmith tighten the tourqe correctly since they are prone to failure if incorrecly installed.

You might be able to get a better deal if you buy the stuff separately from one site. (so the S/H doesn't nickle and dime ya)
