Propane
I used to play airsoft and they use propane in semi-auto gas guns. So i was wondering if propane would hurt paintball guns.
I found a few 16oz propane tanks, the price tag said $1.49 CHEAP! It did not say what PSI it was. But if i could get that to work it would be awsome, and very cheap.
Your thoughts...

Would this be a psi 228/230 (Two 17.2 oz's said that on it) and the 16 oz said 236/238
Is that a measure of psi? does the first number mean the psi that it is filled to and the second the maximum psi?

Propane bad. 1) not enough input pressure and 2) highly combustable gas.. not cool. Not to mention that HPA is basically free as it is compressed environmental air, and propane is expensive.

1. I do not know the pressure of the CO2 tank. Do you know the exact pressure????
2. Big deal it can blow up, they use it in airsoft guns.
3. Propane is really cheap, $1.50 for 16oz tank with propane in it and they sell it every ware, walmart, homedepot, target, Galyens, and every other sports store in the world.
4. It is super light.

MEdic;'s not trying to insult you. You could use helium to shoot a paintball marker too. The problem is is that the tanks are designed for HPA or CO2. Not for propane.
CO2 tanks typically have an 850 output pressure (or around there). However, teh fact that it is liquid when its stored in the tank (much like propane), when it evaporates it changes the pressure.
How about a 20 ounce CO2 tank that you can fill as much as you want. Usually pbll entrence fees come with all day air.
YOU CAN NOT USE PROPANE IN A PAINTBALL GUN. You might be able to, but its just so stupid. ITs much cheaper and makes much more sense to use CO2 or HPA. You can design your car so it runs off olive oil. We have electric cars. How come people use gasoline?
So what if propane is super light? you'd need a low pressure gun to use propane, and still then you'd need to modify it somehow yso your getting the right volume of air every time.
Its impossible. You can't use your airsoft gas to play paintball with. Just get CO2.
What is it that you don't like abou CO2 or HPA? They are cheaper.
Paintball guns typically work around 850+psi, unless your looking to spend 800 bucks on a lp gun.

And that's going to add up smartass. Buy a 12oz CO2 for 10 bucks, and get all day air at the field. Really that hard to understand?

You can reuse CO2 tanks. You get them refilled. Would you rather pay 1.50 for a tank that you'd need to fill at least every game (you'd probably need more then 1 tank with you because of the low pressure and small volume).
When I play I play at least 12 games before I go home. So Thats at MINIMUM 18 bucks, and on top of that, you'd have to carry them and create an interfacce (Airsoft gas goes in clips)to get the tank into your gun.
Or, you can spend 18 bucks for a 20 ounce and fill it once a game, but pay only the entrence fee for all day air (soemtimes the initial entrence fee comes with all day air. Most fields do that.)..
$5 or 18. You choose.

You are retarded Grant, who cares if propane is cheaper, it doesn't work you dumb****. It's not going to work, deal with it, if you're too damn cheap to spend the $12 for a co2 tank and the 3 to fill it up, you shouldn't be paintballing. Go back to airsoft moron.

Does anyone remember the old commercial of the robot doing back flips and stuff through this big chamber of mechanical parts with like spinning blades and stuff, and then he loses his arm and then re-attaches it and says 'I'm Zantron, I can put my arm back on, but you can't so play safe'.
My sentiments exactly. If you don't take stupid risks, you won't suffer their consequences. Playing with explosives gases is like playing in traffic, sure you might not get hurt, but then again you might. Just use nice friendly gases like CO2 and compressed air. Play safe.

It was a question followed by stubborn refusal to admit your idea was a bad idea. Stubborness leads to flamedness.

Quoting yourself in your own signature is pretty desperate I might add.

Whoa there grant my boy. That type of language will not be tolerated on this forum. You may disagree, but no flaming in that tone.
I might add that goes for you too Rob.
Anyway. The output pressure of propane is 250psi or less. You will not get most markers to even cycle at that pressure - so its a moot point to begin with.
I have been a firefighter Paramedic for years, and let me tell you that propane is not a fun gas to be playing with. Lets look at a scenario just for fun shall we.
You are playing "attack and defend" at your local pb arena/field. You are one of the defenders. You are playing in a mock up of a house in a single room. You are using propane. 1) you are becoming frustrated as your marker is shooting only like 5 feet if at all, and; 2) You are filling the room you are in with propane gas. Now, you may not know this, but propane is a heavier then air gas. That means, it will stay in the lower spaces and in enlcosed spaces until something else displaces it. Now in the case of your sitting in an enclosed room, lets just say that you have put 2" of propane gas along the floor. There is no where for it to go. Your game gets over and you whip out a smoke to relax. BOOM -- Not a cool thing.
I know my example is silly to the extreme, but so is using propane for a marker. Airsoft may do that for their guns, but I am not sure thats the greatest idea either.
