Some say it balances the marker setup better, some don't. Some like the position it puts the tank in. And they also say you can play tighter without a drop. New players would mostly just buy them for looks.

Personally, I don't like the position, and I think most ballers would agree that they like the tank where it is with a direct mount/rail/uni-mount, right there under the frame.

I say try one out on your marker first before you buy, and also try rails/uni-mounts/direct mounts to see which you feel comfiest with. I believe if everybody did this with anything they buy (especially in paintball), there would be a lot less questions and everybody would be happier with what they buy.

Drop "makes the gun more balanced." Or "brings the gun closer to the body."

I think they are pointless and ugly. They actually increase your profile.

like big balla said, it adds about 2" to the height of your marker, which is bad.

Ya, they are really just personal preferance, cosmetic items, not adding any sort of performance for the gun.

And I forgot to mention they obviously added height, lol.

i dont like them but i think for front players they can be nice, but i play back so i think it makes my gun a little more balance and controlable without one.

drops bring the gun closer so you can play more tight to the bunker...there not for looks and they dont add height to your gun....guns with out drops are harder to position...maybe its just my point of view or it all

Yea, they do... If you "drop" something, it makes it lower than how it originally was... In this case, away from the gun... This makes the tank lower which in turn adds height.

It is all preference. I thought the same thing but I got rid of it and it is SOOO much easier to play without a drop.

But like I said... preference.
