Dye 2004 hybrid pants

After ripping quite a few other normal pants, I decided I needed to get some paintball pants.
I have my sights set on the Dye 2004 hybrid pants, and have a few questions.
What makes them hybrid?
Are they durable? (especially around the knees, I slide alot.)
Do they breathe easily?

They're hybrid because they're new and are supposed to be like, comfortable, and durable.

Yes, they're pretty durable. The only problem I had with them is that the threading in the knees started the fray and rip a little bit, but that was just the threading, not the whole knee.

Yes, they breathe easy. They have plenty of mesh parts in them to keep you cool. They're also made out of a lighter material for easier breathability.

Another good thing about them is that they have a padded crotch.

So they're not like highwaters, only going down to the shins? Like hybrid pant/shorts?

Don't get the 2004 Hybrids. The extra features... such as a grippy lower back portion to hold the pack firmer, is always covered by a jersey anyways so it is rendered obscelete. Plus the padding in the knees that is added is still not enough padding. I reccomend, (this is what I use) the 2003 model pants and a pair of the new DYE knee pads. Believe me, doing it my way will leave you with no regrets and a slightly heavier wallet.
