problems with my cock er

i just got a new autococker, 2001ish, no questions asked. Its got a progressive barrel, and original blade, with some wierd grip frame, but im not having trouble with any of that

i havent gotten a chance to air it up yet, but the breach doesnt open when i pull the cocking rod, and im just wondering if thats a problem or not

if it is, what is the problem, and what should i do about it?

thanks for your help,

Ummmmmmm..... i think you saying that the bolt doesnt go back when you pull the cocking rod. If so there is no problem. They way the cockers work is they shoot with the bolt "closed". (bolt in the breach). THen the bolt goes back and a ball drops in, bolt closes back, and is shoot again.

alright well what you need to do is

1.loosen cocking knob on cocking rod
2.twist cocking knob counter clockwise
3.Tighten cocking knob
4.cock and look through feed
Did the bolt clear the breech?
If not try again.

You should have enough space in the feedneck to fit your index finger all the way down the feed.

um if i understand what soulefish is saying then there's no problem.

sumsimpleracer, i don't think he was talking about the whole backblock. just the cocking rod that sticks out of the bottom half of the backblock. if you know what i mean. but maybe i'm wrong and there really is a problem. i don't own a cocker so...
