Ball rolling out of barrel...
I was wondering if anyone could tell me why paint keeps rolling out of my barrel. It seems to happen quite often, pretty much after every shot...
I have already checked the detent, and Im pretty sure it is okay, (if i take the barrel off, cock the gun, and stick a ball behind the detent it seems to stay, even if I wiggle the gun around).
I was also thinking it could be because the paint I am using is quite a bit smaller than the bore of the barrel I have.(im using the barrel that came with my gun, a bob long long shot barrel off a timmy, with rps polar ice paint.)
Thanks alot,

Because Autocockers are closed bolt markers, meaning that the bolt rests forward with one paintball loaded in the breech. Because their is a paintball loaded in the breech at all times if you were to tilt your marker forward a paintball would roll out if the paint to bore match was bad.
"I thought thats what detents are for."
Because of Autocockers method of operation, a long with detent placement the detent only stops double feeding. This is because at all other times besides when a paintball is being loaded the bolt is blocking off the detent.

Best way to tell if your paint is a good size is to do this...
Stick a ball in one end of the barrel. If it just rolls right thru then its definately too small, and you might as well be shooting the Klobb from Goldeneye 007 64.
Assuming that it stays put and doesnt fall out, blow the ball thru the barrel like a blowgun. (Dont point it at the dog)
Now, if it blows out rather easilly without too much effort, then its a decent match. If you nearly pass out and have a headache after this test, or the paint wont blow out at all, then its probably too big. However, in every batch of paint, there will be a few stragglers that will be different from the others, so test like 10 just to make sure you are getting accurate results.

Thanks, and master of paint, that is actually how i figured out that the paint was to small for the barrel before, but I only tried one ball, lol. Im gonna use your advice and try a few more balls instead of just one. Im still pretty sure that the paint is to small though cause when i hold the paint in the barrel with my hand I can see alot of light around it when I look down from the other side. I guess ill have to get some bigger paint...

Toxic, read what Mike stated above. A detent on an autococker is only going to stop double feeding during the time that the backblock cocks back in the cycle. If you have your finger off the trigger, the bolt is foreward, and the ball is already past the detent then. I highly doubt that Robbie walks around the field with his finger held down on the trigger. So even if the detent was bad, getting a new one wouldnt help his problem because he has a problem with the balls rolling out of the barrel.
