Help Pwease
OK, i just put a new front reg on my friends cocker. Hasnt been used in aobut a year. But after i put it on, it now leaks out of the barrel, and it doesnt auto cock. In fact after you manually cock it, the backblock/cocking rod doesnt move. Any ideas? is it just timing or is it something serious?

front reg? by that do you mean the low pressure regulator? if so then you just have not properly adjusted the new lpr.
assuming it is externally adjustable do the following:
turn the lpr all the way down so that nothing happens when you pull the trigger.
(assuming its mech) pull and hold the trigger as you turn up the lpr.
continue to turn up the lpr until the back block moves fully to the back position
give it an extra 1/4 turn
for the barrel air leak, take off the inline regulator and then put about 5 drops of oil inside the asa. now gas it up and with the barrell off shoot it 20-30 times and see if the leak stops. the leak is most probably a result of it not being used in so long that the cup seal has lost some integrity, oil should fix.

If its leaking from sitting then its most likely orings. (valve orings) If air is leaking out of the barrle it could be one of these 3 things.
1. the marker is not cocked, allowing the hammer to sit on the valve and hold it open (most likeley considering you just changed the LPR and said it wasn't recocking properly)
2 the gun has sat for a while and the orings are dry, cracked around the valve. (second most probable.)
3 cup seal is worn out. (worn out is the key word here, it would need to be used to be worn out, sitting should not wear out the cup seal, or the one that I keep in my tool box would already be bad.)
Do as reeves suggested and run some oil threw in. manually cock the marker before you air it up. Get rid of the leak before you try to setup the LPR. Just take it one step at a time and you will do fine. Try pulling the cocking rod back by hand. if its not catching you need to set the lug first. The back block will not move when you cock it this way, so that is normal. I mostly sounds like your hammer is sitting on the valve causing the leak, and your LPR is not adjusted correctly, not allowing the marker to cycle.

Ok. when i turn the reg all the way down and put air on it. It will cock all the way back. But then it wont cycle anymore after i shoot it. But when the air pressure gets low, after turning the tank off, it will cycle the back block.

ok, starting to get a better image of what is happening. do me a favor and refer to the main reg as the inline and the front reg as the LPR. I am still not quite clear on which you are talking about.
1. is the gun still leaking?
2. when you pull the trigger part of the way back, does the gun fire?
3. when you pull the trigger the rest of the way back do the pneumatics cycle? (sounds like its just going back but not forward when you release)
4As you degas the marker the pneumatics start to cycle?
5 Is your LPR adjustable?
6. Is the marker timed correctly?
start by doing the following. Asuming there are no leaks. (fix leaks first) lower your LPR pressure all the way down. pull the trigger repeatidly and slightly increase pressure until the back block is cycleing normally. If it is going back and not forward, even at low pressure then your 3way needs to be timed or your ram is sticking. Answer the above questions I have and try this suggestion and get back to me.

1.yes
2.No
3.yes, it cocks(didnt do this earlier) and then after another trigger pull it shoots. But does not recock after it shoots. it goes about halfway back(did not do this earlier) and then just sticks there.
4. Yes. Sometimes
5. It is a Mako regulator. I "think" its adjustable. you can turn knob on the front, but i dont know if it actually works that good.
6. don't know

First off you have a leak. that needs to be fixed. You may want to take this to a pro shop. unless you have a valve tool. You could start by timing the marker, and adding oil as reeves suggested earlier. get it timed and it should start working correctly. You really need to address the leak, if the oil or timing does not fix it. This may be worth a shop fee, at least watch the tech and try and learn a little for what you are paying.
