Shroud?
When you buy the "2005 WGP ProStock Autococker" it does come with a shroud for the Pneumatics, right? It would really suck getting shot were the hose is at. I am asking because all the pictures have it with no shroud for protection, but they could have just taken it off for the picture.

you do not need a shroud, and wgp has stopped including it with their guns since 2002 or 2003.
if you get shot in the front block, it is really no big deal. and since its mechanical, you can literally hold the entire thing under water, or spray it with a water hose, and it wont hurt it. but keep it aired up when you do that.
anyways, you dont need a shroud. they are big, ugly, and have no real purpose because your 'matics will be ok if you get shot there.

Not a very good idea to put the matics under water... Not becuause of rusting, but its not a very good idea to get all the oil off the o-rings of the 3-way, nor is it good to get water down the cylinder of the ram...

read this for more info on water
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...=&pagenumber=1
you can run water through it, cycle it about 20 times to get the water out, then drop some oil in the asa and fire again about 20 times, and youre good to go.

the guy that said you can attach a garden hose to your asa isnt a kid, he definitely knows his stuff. not just related to water either.
and aluminum does not rust. it can corrode, but that is different from rust
edit: oh and btw that guy is glenn palmer, i would just take his word for it

the manual for a WGP cocker says to use a 50/50 solution of water and alcohol.
I use it on all my guns. the alcohol helps disapate the water and it evaporates very quickly. also be careful around electronics.
FYI anodizing aluminum does many things that are benefitial for paintball guns.
1. it makes them colored
2. it makes the aluminum as hard as stainless steel. (prevent dents, makes threads hold better)
3. prevents corosion.
Jim has a great point about washing the oil off of your orings. this would do some seriouse damage fast. If you knew what you were doing, it could be very safe.
Auto mags are dishwasher safe **egrip not included.

keep in mind though oil is not water soluble. it could wash some loose excess away, but it isnt just going to completely dissolve and dissappear. but of course you should relube it after cleaning it, whether you are using water, alcohol, or mayonaise, you should always dry and relube after cleaning...

sticking it under water has its good points but also its bad points...i mean if you have a leak and cant find it then looking for bubbles is a good idea...but then again water might get into your matics and liquids in your matics is never good
