custom bolt and back block
ok guys, I finally finished up my night school classes and its time to start making a custom back block and bolt. I opened my big mouth and volunteered to make a back block for drktamer and now he wants a custom bolt too! I don't have a lathe yet, nor fundage to buy one, so turning a bolt is not really an option. does anyone have an all delrin bolt (no orings) to donate to the cause?
I will take pictures of the process and the finished product and I am sure tamer will take some on the gun once completed.

Hey jaggy, I found a stock orracle e-class bolt that I'm gonna pick up this sunday, it has the slots for o-rings but oh well... I couldn't resist it for $5.

the orry bolt isn't bad. I ran one of those in my STO. its part aluminum like a shock tech though. so not much I can do with it. anyway, I will get to work on the back block and if we come up with a delrin bolt, I will do that later.

I don't have a gram scale, so not sure what it weighs. I tried to make it light, but strong. I could shave it down a ton more, but not sure I would trust it because of the impact on the cocking rod. If he had an MQ valve though, I could make a feather weight.
It used about 1/3 of the block I had. There is a plastics distributer here in town. They have bins of delrin. I paid about $2 for 3 chunks like that. get your phone book out and see what you can find locally. you may be very supprised.
more good new. a bolt is on its way. its white so I will do a custom die job on it, and maybe try and shave it down somemore too.

since I was having so much "fun" with delrin, I decided to make myself a snatch grip too.
