Custom black magic project

Basicly this is what I had to work with.

First I modded the Air screw. The first shot is stock, the second shot is my mod.
This is to allow for more air flow. The vert adapter for a mini can cut off the flow from
a standard air screw. (I think this may be the issue I was having w/ velocity on my old halfblock.

Next we have a couple shots of the freshly mini'ed body.

I also cut down the pump arm, threaded it and installed it. (top portion of the pic)
Next up was to create a new back block. (blue back block is a stock 03 wgp. used as a template.

First shot is just a test fit.

Here is the crude back block. I have installed a temp ICS rod. (you can see it in the first pic below this text.)
Also followed by some shots of the back block.
I was kinda going for a "stelth fighter" look. any suggestions welcome.

(Once I polish it though. its done! I'm not touching it ever again.)

its just about done. any suggestions welcome.

thanks man. I still need to square the bottom and take a little more material off. I just threw it on the marker when I was finished tonight.

any other feedback?

That sidewinder looks kinda goofy, any way you could get the shorter version of it on there?

Also, how much of a hassle would it be to get the whole thing anno'ed? Even if it was just a single color? The existing black anno's on the various parts are nicked and don't match each other.

Aside from all that, it looks great.

thanks racer, yeah, I wish I could go with all top of the line parts too, but I'm just working within the means of his budget.

As for the reg, thats a mid topper, it should hit just about right with the on/off. For performance sake, I kept it that size. (Mq valve to feed) It should look alright when finished.

The words Ghetto fabulous come to mind I have to say I'm envious though... it looks alot better than my 32 Degrees project gun *8 colors and counting ... *

Hmm Lightning bolt haven't seen one of those in ages.. good times good times..

On a side note have you ever tested the differences between a full sized and mini when it comes to volume with an MQ-Valve?

I suppose I'm in the minority in liking the sidewinder, than again I'm also probably in the minority at liking the 2Liter visually speaking :P Maybe its an AKA thing...

This is the definition of gheto fab! (I supose I would need to finish it up w/ some duct tape...)

The lightning is all I had for delrin bolts left to 'give' away.

as for the mini vs full. I had issues with the MQ on my mini halfblock, but DRG and I were talking about a possible issue with the air screw and the vert adapter causeing a "pinch" on the air flow. Not sure how much you followed my testing of the mini MQ when it was still first gen, but ronin had me trying all kinds of things.

Drg happened to mention this posibillity after I had sold the marker, so I was never able to test it. (Hence the reason I bored out the airscrew on this one.)
I also took care to mark the air screw so I knew where it would be possitioned and what would need to be widened. also took special care not to interupt any flow with the LPR durring install.

This is also a 2nd gen MQ valve, Since my issues, they upped the max pressure to help eliminate it.

Long story short, I don't think I will be having any velocity issues w/ this one.
I take about 1 inch off when mini'ing and the air screw is 7/16ths if memory serves. that would account for a substatial amount of volume lost. (way more than a volumizer air screw can provide.)

as for sidewinders... My fav reg! I love them! (even have one on my karni)

Cost of the gun? That depends on if your going to play on my team or not

This guy is getting one heck of a deal. I can tell you that. (hence my reluctance to throw all new shiny pneumatics at it... or even a new bolt.)

anyway, I wanted to show what a little initiative and some elbow grease could produce.

What are you talkin about? Looks to me like it's just broken in...

I would prolly go with a shorty sidewinder for looks, but then again that can cause performance issues sometimes. A clamping feedneck of some sort would be a plus as well, although it is somewhat of a pain on a press-fit system like that.

Other than that it looks very nice. Your talents never cease to amaze me jaggy!

OH, it is a threaded feedneck isn't it. Never noticed that in the pictures...I was under the impression that the BM's were press fit like most of the prostocks.
