Advice for autococker project

I need some advice here. I'm thinking of buying an autococker body and pneumatics on ebay. It comes with everything except a grip frame and barrel. So the pneumatics, internals and everything is covered. Its a 1998 autococker. He says theres no leaks or anything.

Should I buy this or no?

If yes:

What grip frame should I buy?
Does it matter?

And as far as the barrel goes, what should I be looking for?

Should you buy it? That's up to you to decide.

Mechanical frames in cockers come in 2 varieties. Slider frames where the trigger is on a rail and slides back (what a 98 cocker would've originally had) and hinge frames where the trigger hinges back and forth. Hinge frame come in two varieties, single finger and double finger triggers. Single trigger hinge frames are not very common.

The cocker you are looking at doesn't have a frame on it because the marker likely had an electronic frame on it, something you might consider as well. There's a number of electronic frames on the marker, the most popular being the planet eclipse e1 and e2, and to a lesser extent the wgp worrblade and the racegun race frame.

It does matter because it all comes down to what you like best when customizing a cocker.

Barrelwise, you should be looking for something that is autococker threaded. The rest is up to you, what you want.

Like anything, all of the above will depend largely on the size of your budget. And customizing a cocker takes some serious cash and a lot of love for cockers, because without love you'd be buying yourself a nice electro and not be spending that amount of cash on a cocker.

ya they can be money pits but o so much fun, and the parts you put on a cocker actually do something as oposed to a 98 or a a-5 where they are just for looks

iv dumped around $600 into my creation sofar and im not done

here it is if you want to see
Trbo323's DM6 & Autococker superstock

as for what to do with this one, do you have a link so i can see whats on it? i really enjoy the e2 frame thats on mine, combine that with the MQ2 valve (replaces the hamer and valve in the lower tube and turns the marker into a fully electro-pnumatic operation) and it is capable of crazy speeds.

Okay so I actually have zero autococker parts..... Well I'be been scoping out this ebay auction that has pretty much everything except the barrel and frame. Its a 98 cocker.

Seeing the configuation of the 3-way, that cocker had a slider frame on it. Nice colour imo, decent pneus and looks like it's mostly stock except for the pneumatics. You can get a new slider or hinge frame off paintball gateway or pick a cheap used frame off mcarterbrown.com, they have a forum full of cocker fans that are constantly trading and selling stuff.

It's impossible to predict what it'll go for. Personally i wouldn't pay more than $60 for it, but then again you might be ready to pay more and that's the beauty of the auction. Maybe a collector might want it so bad as to pay twice or more as you do. It all depends on who's looking at it, if they've done their homework and how much they're ready to pay.

if you want a mechanical cocker i think thats a pretty decent find, even though i am not a fan of those feednecks at all. if you want to go electronic id find something that already has an eye hole at least so you dont have to drill that yourself
