No for both questions. I have a pump auto cocker and am slowly going to get it to a semi-auto. Your friend sounds like he knows what hes talking about you could ask him to help you out when you change.

Here is a list of every thing you will need. I have a CCM pump I just know that the cocking rod for mine I would not need to replace. I dont think you will need to change yours but you might have to because I have never seen a sniper setup before. Maybe some one that has used or owned a sniper can help you with the cocking rod.

3-way
Ram
LPR
Front block
Actuator Rod (little rod that goes to your trigger).

Yes the 3-way, ram and LPR all screw in to the front block and the front block screws into the front of the gun where the sniper's pump arm is.

There should be a place already for it. So you just need to install it. All you need to do is slide it in the little whole at the top of your trigger.

Yes you will need the ram it is the part that will cock(pump) the gun for you. More information about every part on the cocker go here.

As for what parts to get I would say get these.
3-way: Belsales Hollow-point
Ram: Belsales 44 Magnum or Free Flow Ram
LPR: Palmers Rock (Micro or normal size they are almost the same.)

Depends do you want a pump gun? I got a CCM Series 5 Pump and then I plan on buying the best pneu's for it and converting it to a Semi. That way I have a Pump and a semi if I want to use one I just change it.

I still dont understand do you want a semi or pump as your first gun? If you want a pump gun get the sniper if you want a semi-auto gun get the '03. You could get a CCM pump kit later for the '03 if you wanted a pump or pneu's for the sniper. From what I heard CCM's pump kit is better then the sniper's. I have never played with a Sniper kit so I can not tell you which is better. I just know that my CCM pump is really strong.

don't forget, when you get all those new parts, you WILL have to re-time it. i don't know if it has to be timed for a pump, but if you convert it to semi-auto, the first thing you need to do is to get it timed, or do it yourself, if you know what your doing...

Go to CCM's main site. CCM Home Page

The only diffrence between the J2's and Series5 is milling. Unless you are getting a pump version then the J2's have auto-shot (you can hold the trigger down and just pump the gun and every time the pump arm fully closes it will fire) and the Series5 you need to (pump, pull the tirger, let the trigger go, pump....).

When I was looking at guns I picked CCM because a lot of people said they were better then wgp but if you want the '03 body get the sniper.
