volocity screw unscrewed

as i was dry firing the velocity adjustment screw came undone and popped out.
i know its easy to put back in, just wondering if anyone had an explenation of what and why it happaned.

yeah, o ring will do it, it happend on my gun and i just put an oring on it, make sure u put a screw in the hole where the bever tail screw goes or it will get jammed up in that and break, also oil it when u put it in. That should fix ur problem.

i wasnt asking how to fix it...i just screwed it back in.
i was asking how it had happaned. just from the kickback of the gun?

I think he means the cocking rod.

Cocking rods flying off is a common thing to happen. Its because the cocking rod is pushed back after every shot, so It is constantly moving and sometimes wiggles loose.

The only thing you can really do to prevent it is to screw it in tight and check it every so often. Some people recommend using loctite, but then you will have a hard time removing it to adjust your velocity.

You can also try teflon tape. A little of this will ensure that the cocking rod will stay in place, and still be easy to unscrew. You should try that if it keeps giving you problems.

if you keep screwing it in tight or if it keep coming out doesnt that mean the volocity is changing?

No, to change the velocity, you have to take out the cocking rod (the bottom rod under the bolt) and insert an allen wrench. Then turn clockwise to turn up the velocity or counter clockwise to turn down the velocity.
