Pulling the trigger

So I was tinkering with my cocker and I noticed that when I partially pull the trigger (with no gas) and let the trigger go before it fires, the rest of the trigger pull is really soft up unto where I left off. I dunno if I'm making sense or not, kinda hard to explain. Is this normal?

Huh? I dont understand what your saying. What do you mean by "before it fires" are you talking about before it trips the sear?

That would be normal. The sear in the trigger needs to hold the cocking lug and if the trigger is too light then it wont hold it. So the slack you are taking up is right before you get to the point that the sear loses grip on the cocking lug.

Hope that clears that up..
