Accuracy is based on 6 things.
The main one is paint-to-bore match. If you have paint rolling down your barrel or paint that is to big for your barrel you will not get the best results. To get the best paint-to-bore match get a barrel kit. To decide which bore barrel to use do a blow test. To do this you take the back of the barrel, put a paintball in the back of the barrel back and blow it out. The paintball should not be able to roll down your barrel, and it shouldnt make you red in the face from blowing so hard. It should be able to go a few feet, I like to stick my hand out in front of it, it usually feels like when your friend snapps a rubber band on your hand.
The next thing that effects accuracy is paint quality. This has to do with paint-to-bore quality also. If you have 1 paintball that is .686 and the next is .689 in a .686 back you arn't going to get the best results. Also dimpled paint will effect accuracy. To prevent this simply by higher quality paint.
Another thing that effects accuracy is conistancy. In example, if you have 1 paintball shooting at 264 fps and another at 278 fps, your paintballs are not going to hit the same area because 1 will go further then the other. Consistancy is determined by your gun set up. A good upgrade to make your gun consistant would be getting a HPA tank.
One more thing that effects accuracy is the quality of your barrel. To avoid buying a low quality barrel, just look for companies that you have dealt with before and you are happy with their products.
The 5th thing accuracy is effected by is kick. If you have a marker that kicks like a mule and you shoot once, shoot again in a short time without re-aiming, you gun might be in a different spot. You are in luck here. Closed bolt designed guns (cockers) have very little kick. I am guessing you own a cocker because you posted in this forum.
The last and final object that effects accuracy is the weather. This is obvious and self explanitory. Paintballs are sphere shaped, which isnt the most airo dynamic. If theirs a strong wind it can blow your paintballs off track. I hope I help and I am sure people can point out and add things I have missed.
