1. The Trilogies aren't.. Normal cockers are just a classic design that has withstood the test of time.

2. Cockers are sturdy and have very little kick, due to the manner in which they recock. They still kick more than a Matrix, but they don't kick much at all.
You'll hear people say they're more accurate. That's really not true since accuracy is more affected by paint to barrel match and consistency in air pressure.

3. Mech cockers have to be timed (not very much though and it's quite easy to do... don't let anyone tell you otherwise in that sense)
New players tend to want to fiddle with stuff on their cockers, and that's the best way to screw them up.

But remember that the Trilogy series is likely gonna suck, since they're really not upgradeable in relation to the vert feed models

get a superstock cocker, might not be the sexiest, (but its not ugly either) but they are very reliable, you can tweak them to your preference, and really make them a very nice turny gun. IMO

amen bros. if you're technicly inclined and a tinkerer, you'll be awesome w/ a cocker. the biggest prob, especially w/ a stock cocker is short stroking. but some timing tweaks and some upgrades will fix that.

Well actually since he was looking at a Trilogy, I'd guess the Superstock would be out of his price range. Or maybe you're talking about the Pro Stock, in which case, that's a good choice.

But you can also find a new 2k3 vert feed for around 200 - 250 dollars if you look hard enough
