Aftermarket ball detents?
What is the point of having an aftermarked ball detent? does it like make sure balls don't slip past or what?

It will help with less balls getting past the detents yes, and if you get the Kapp Delrin ball detent, it will not scratch your bolt and its a great detent

The only reason I see that you would need new detents is if:
A. What Demo said, your having problems with the bolt getting carved into
or
B. If your having problems with the ball not being held bad by the stock detents, Ex. Your running a force feed hopper and it blows right past the detents, then you would need to buy some stiffer detents to solve the problem.
Other than that, there is no real reason to buy new dtents.

I say orry, I think the ANS quick pull requires you to use a special backblock, which looks rather heavy and large.

I have a cp ball detent and it's delrin. No a bid difference but I like the idea of having a derlin one over a steel one. Plus it was free..

I'm guessing the delrin is more stiff for force feed hoppers?

Well I wouldn't use a force feed on an autococker unless you have a lot of cleaning time available.

Well this sounds crazy but you'd have to watch your pull even more with a mech. It's bad enough when you are new to one and you're short stroking but mechs are slow and having to watch your pulling sucks even more.

Just don't short stroke and you'll be fine. As for the detent, well I got mine because my stock one was scratching the stock bolt (which I replaced both and you should too) AND it wouldn't allow the bolt to clear the breech all the way forward. I must say though, I don't use my cocker as often as I like but I've already noticed light wear on the bolt from the detent so it doesn't completely prevent scratches.

The ANS Quickpull can use a standard Autococker backblock. I have one on my old Autococker and use a Kapp Razor backblock.
I'd go with the WGP all delrin bolt, if those were my two choices.
As for detents, it depends. Some can be disassembled for rebuild or cleaning and others have a delrin ball. The selling points are as varied as the vendors.

Ball dents seem like a pain (have to spend money). Got to love my wire, dont have to go buy something to fix it, just rebend.

lol I never even thought of that and just got my halo b right when I got my CCM Series 5. I never chopped a ball *yet* and I think I have it running at such a low pressure that it pinches. All I really know is I can stick my finger in the breach and pull the trigger as fast as I can with out it even bothering me.
