Leaking LPR
Hey guys, Just got my first auto cocker, pic in sig. I am really exited.
I am guessing a lot of first time cocker questons start like this "so I bought a used autococker and here is the problem"
Well I would hate to break new ground so here is my issue.
Gassed it up and there is a leak at the front block. It was really hard to identify exacly where it was coming from because it was so slow. (not too slow...took my full 88/45 tank down to 1000 psi after a while of testing.)
So the first thing I noticed was the brass nipple on the LPR was not taped. (most of the fitting were not taped, and those that were were a little ugly.)
I taped up all the fitting and made it look nice and neat but still leaking. Replaced all microlines...and macro line for good measure.
I could hear more of leak with old microline but as I turned the rock knob down it stopped the microline leak. but there was still a leak from the block side of the LPR.
I took a sponge with soapy water and started dabbing it on the nipple (block) side of the LPR and Itentified the leak. I am sorry I don't the term for this part of the reg so I will describe it. Part of the reg that the brass nipple screws into. was not leaking at the brass fitting but at the larger threads.
I broke it down and noticed it had been locktited (red) at one point. I did not have any to try.
there was the novel, here is the question.
Should I even bother trying to locktite the reg back together? or just get a new one? I know it's worth a try to atempt to fix, but I want to be able to trust it. I also really want to use it this weekend, wich means I only have tonight to get it working. So I guess I am really asking, even if I stop the leak with locktite is the reg still reliable?
specific marker info in sig.
thanks in advance.
