Macro Lines?
I may get hit for not posting this in the air system thread, but was really wanting Cocker user input...
Do any of you use macro lines as opposed to steel braid lines? If so, what is your opinion (pros / cons). I was thinking of switching over, but wanted to get user comments first...
Thanks!

I love the macro line! I can cut it short or make it longer and force a bend if needed. (easily customizable for the user)
It is also great if I want to swap regs around, I don't have to unscrew the fitting, just pull out the line and slap a new reg in and snap the line back on. no tools needed. (no teflon either!)
the con is that it will start to leak, so get a couple extra pieces for your gear bag.
and it will leak sooner if used on co2.

macroline is good since you can cut to make it shorter or longer etc etc. its also good in that it is easily removeable for taking off drops, asa's, regs, etc. it is however more prone to leaks. steel braid of course is much tougher than macro, but you have to deal with removing fittings to take it off.

i personally don't have an autococker (yet..) my friend does and he uses a macro and ive seen it all.
Pros
If for what ever you need to replace the line its very cheap and easy
Cons
you have to make sure that your macro line is on a nice gentaly bend, By this I mean you cant just have a macro line go from you regulator to under you trigger frame with most autococker. That maybe to sharp of a angle and you might get a kink in the hose which is not good. So to avoid this you might have to purchase a drop forward

I used to use macroline when I used my massive drop and it didn't give me any problems just remember to cut it evenly or else it'll really piss you off.

yea it sometimes gets very anooying with the small leaks. Just make sure to carry a razor and extra pieces with you. Less time consuming if u are disasembling the marker etc.... If u have a small leak, just gunk it with alot of teflon tape works like a charm.

alright maybe you didn't understand what i meant so here come the pictures
Quick note" yes i know the prostock comes with a steel braided hose
if you have already read the JAnuary issue of Paintball 2xtreme you will know all the bad effect of having a drop forward this low, so nobody really wins

Thanks to all that replied (especially sniper for the pix). I think I'll go for it - thanks for the advice on extra line and using a razor....

um i never used macro line but i think u can get 45* elbows that *might* work without a drop but its just a guess
BTW is macro line like 3-way hoses but only bigger?

Never had a problem with Macro Lines, generally I use them just because they look better though ;/
Functionally I actually like steel braid more w/quick releases. Makes maintaince a snap.

well large drop forwards make you marker " Tall ". This leads to an increased abput of hopper hits.
With the air extremely low air tank you can lose alot of you " movement " capablities. Also know as losing "tightnest" to your marker. Which can result in poor posture on the playing feild and a decrease in your rate of fire. (you won't be comfortable)

yea you can they will help but it depends on your regulator, on some they won't help but the general idea is not to bend you maco line into a S shape but a gental bend

macroline is awesome. i love it... i can carry extra with me, its also slightly lighter. and instead of ordering one piece of steel braided ($10), you can get 2 feet of macroline ($.50 ea at my proshop). i also had greif with steel braided in my younger years, i ordered a piece.. and it didnt fit. i like macro better.. good luck on ur decision tho

i actually like steel braided better
just because ive had macro blow
it scares the **** out of you
but its so hard to find the right size
plus it takes too long to take it off
so i just stick to Macro line
