timing collar theads

has anyone ever seen a timing collar that uses different threads than standard? I just bought a collar and it is a finer thread than my timing rod.

Timing rod will thread just fine into the set srew threads but not into the collar itself.

I even found my tap and and dye set, and its not a standard thread, best I can tell it is metric. do the dragonfly's use a metric collar?

I thought they were all standard, any one know for sure?
thanks in advance.

(I just bought a dye stainless mini timing rod, brand new and it didn't come w/ a freakin collar, so I had to buy it seperate and it doesn't fit)
