whats so complicated about cockers?
ive been doing quite a bit of research and been lookin through some forums and whats so complicated about cockers taht everyone is talking about? i dont think theyre that complicated. what do people think that make the cocker compicated? jus a bunch of moving parts? timing it? its not that hard imo but, wht else is there that would be "complicated" for a cocker

i don't either. if you understand how it works its pretty simple. people just tend to over complicate stuff. i totally understood my cocker b4 i ever touched it. i got it in the mail and took it apart and reassembled just for fun.

Knowing that there is a grain of truth in every autococker horror story out there, in my opinion. Knowing that they will have to time it if they change any major parts, or it might not work at all. Lots of people don't want to deal with that sort of thing.
And some people love them to death because there's so many parts you can change out for newer and better things. And then you have the challange of making it all work together again. This is actually why I want to get one for my first higher level marker. Plus...I mean you get to see all the parts move around. How awesome is that. =)

Ppl are lazy and dont like touchinng there guns. There not that hard to understand and one of the easiest guns to clean if u have a paintball chop in the gun. the hardest thing to do is unscrew the barrel lol. It takes about 30 seconds to take the bolt out squgee, swab, put bolt back in and the pin and bam your ready to play agian.
Thats one of the reasons im sad I dont have a cocker anymore. owell

they look sick when they're shooting. love em. they do have the tendancy to break down fairly easily. but once you have a good setup this is rare. i just love how my cocker looks and shoots. upgradeability is the prime + for cockers. w/ enough money they can be made to shoot about as good as some of the top guns out there.

It's just that cockers are more maintenace than other guns.
Say you have a Viking on one end and a cocker on the other.
Set up the regs on a Viking and it's ready for a long time, whereas a cocker need to be tuned a lot more than a Viking. Also, when you install new parts you have to retime the gun, which can be very tedious.
Cockers are great guns when you get them set up, but setting them up can be a hassle that I don't feel like doing. That's why I sold my cocker, just more work than I feel like doing.

the only thing that really makes the cocker frustrating is finding out where the problem is, how your going to go about fixing the problem, and how to get in and out without damaging anything else...
...another thing that frustrates people is attempting to bunker a back player that has a timmy and when you run by one of the 3way cords fly off making really loud hissing noises so the timmy dude turns and over shoots you pointblank

you obviously arnt talking about an eblade... i understood my mech cocker 100%, the eblade still pisses me off. Was playing today, and my cocker wasnt firing.... spent all of 2 hours tweaking the lug, and the son and several other things just to find out the battery was low... Plus its very hard to make an ebladed autococker tourney legal and still any sort of speed. I have been told that once you buy a better gun then a cocker, you learn to hate the cocker.

if it makes you feel better the timmy dude has hoses that can fly off too!
ZoWnX set you gun to FF and forget that timing page you posted.
then play with the magnet return on your trigger to get rid of the bounce.

Id suggest getting a bushy over a cocker. If you dont wanna put alot of money into the cocker making it uber fast.

Timing is easy. Do it yourself once and you got it down. Ya your cocking rod may come loose and you gotta tighten it and loctite it, or your actuating collar may come loose, and you gotta time everything everytime you install a new part, but how often do you upgrade pneumatics anyways?
its a rewarding feeling to get the cocker timed perfectly, and then going out and shooting it. I like my cocker. I like my angel more, but i wont be selling my occker anytime soon.
