When you press on your cocking rod while firing it kept the valve open, increasing the FPS.
So now your wondering why FPS would matter in tournament ball, probably. An increase in FPS helps you in tournament ball a lot of ways. For an example, if you are shooting at an enemy and he is shooting at you, but your shooting 10FPS more than him, your paintballs will hit him first; which will give you an advantage. Another example would be off the break. Your paintballs would be reaching their side the feild quicker, giving you the upper hand once again.
