Looking into Conversion Vans

I am about to get my license and am well aware of the fact that my parents will not be buying me a car for my birthday, or the upcoming Christmas, or the following birthday.

latley I have been looking into Conversion Vans for the large seating capacity. However I have an hour long commute to school everyday (I got into a 'fancy pants' private school about 2 or 3 years after my family moved into a new house that they spent a longer time working on then we have been living in so moving is pretty much out of the question for a while) so gas miliage is a very big issue.

So I was wondering what kind of miliage conversion vans get, and about how much late models cost used.

Also what kind of incurance I would be paying would be nice to know(I would be signing on my parents plan, I get good grades, and am a pretty safe driver.

I know that I will be taking hits on incurance because of my commute, the fact that conversions are large cars, and along with the fact that I am a new, male driver.

Its more likley that I'll end up getting a used Honda by the way

we get about 21 mpg with the 5.7

i suggest a ford van over anyother cause they have always had the nicest vans

ive sat in many chevy and dodge vans and im tellin you i dont know wtf they are thinkin cause they have the worst seats in those things ever

if you want mileage, get a geo prizm

if you want a sweet chill car that your friends can lounge around in and have good times get a conversion van. you cant really have both mileage and sweet chill van, its one or the other

but yea i love conversion vans so i think you should get one

they get decent mileage. the chevy astro's have the 4.3 vortec, same V6 as in the s-10's. As for the fords, they've got several engines that you can get, can' remember which ones though. I'd test drive to see how the power/economy level is for each.
