Update: Jeep
Okay so I've been working on the Jeep recently. Heres a list of what I've done.
- New Spark Plugs and Wires
- New Antifreeze tank
- New Fan shroud
- New Backseat
- New Shifter and 4WD Shifter
- New rear windsheild wiper motor
- New Air filter
- New motor for seats
- Fixed locks
And some other stuff. I ordered some new gauges and I need to buy the colored bulbs so they light up at night. I got the gauges for 20 bucks and they are in the mail.
The only thing I've got left on this car is..
- New Windsheild
- New Wheels maybe
- Would like a new paintjob
The windsheild is cracked and it's going to need replacement no matter what. I found a place that would do it for $140 installed. I figured that is not a bad price at all.
The wheels are in bad shape. The clearcoat is coming off and I think one of them is starting to rust out. I've been thinking about just looking for some decent wheels at garage sales and the junkyards.
The paint is kinda crappy. Few little rust spots and chips and stuff. I'd like to get a new paintjob. There's a place that does it for $200 but I've heard they do a crappy job and it flakes off in 5 years.
Discuss, give suggestions, etc.
I'll get pics later.

check with your insurance on the windshield.. we only had to pay a little less than 100 cuz our insurance covered a bunch of it... and yeah look around for some rims or whatnot.. dont go too flashy with em tho or it wont look so hot..

140 isn't bad for the windshield.
Before you get it painted, make sure they buff all that rust the hell on out. Otherwise it'll just come through your new paint.
Wheels = junkyard. Usually you can find pretty decent ones for cheap.

Yeah I was thinking about painting it myself or having my dad do it. We could buff all the stuff out, sand it, prime it, and then my friend has an air compressor with a paint gun tool. My dad used to paint cars at a bodyshop so I figure he could do a decent job.
The wheels may be a little challanging because I do not find 5 lug wheels very often with the same spacing.

My Blazer has some rust on it, and my dad is getting this stuff where you sand off all the rust and ****, and then paint this stuff on and it holds the rust back or something. Its not a primer, its like a rust barrier. I'll try to find out the name of it for ya.
Painting yourslef isn't to rough, as long as you know what you are doing and pick a non-windy day(unlike my neighbor... dumbass.).

It's a 1990 Cherokee with 6cyl engine and 4 wheel drive. I paid $100 for it working and in good cosmetic shape.
DBD - aight man if you can get the name of that stuff I'd appreciate it.

For $200, a 5 year paintjob is well worth it, in 5 years, just get it done again, it would be better than paying all kinds of money out the ass for paint that lasts longer.
