Street Bikes

Alright, I really want to get one, and I'm going to get my bike license over this summer. I was thinking about saving up and getting one in a year or so so I have it for next summer. I don't know, maybe I will be able to get it this year. My parents are against it now, but when my Dad rides one he'll be all for it. What do you guys suggest? I've ridden an R6. That was really nice. I kinda want one. Any alternates? I have 5 grand already. Thanks. Also, any tips for the test is appreciated.

I've riden a few bikes. ZX7, ZX-6R ZX 636, R6, GSXR 600...

I have riden an R1 also. I wouldn't suggest a bigboy liter big for starters. I know you're smarter than that though.

The Gixxer is a bigger bike than the R6, but it's also faster *top end wise*

The R6 is smaller and is faster low end wise.

I really like Hondas also. To me they seem easier to ride for some reason.

Not a huge fan on Ninjas, riden quite a few though.

All in all, I think the R6 or a Honda CBR 600RR or f4i would be an exellent choice. If you have 5 grand already I'm sure you could pick a bike up this summer.

There's no where up here to really open 'em up and get any top end speed. Its all acceleration.

get a Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R..lol...great way to kill yourself

one of my friends bought a Suzuki GSXR600 about a month ago. He let me ride it around the block and I really liked it. The only other bike I have ridden is a Honda 600. I really like it too

One of my cousins bought a Honda NSR50R (pocket bike) and I love it. It's so much fun to ride around

Haha. I have a video on my computer of two hayabusas rollin in at 60 vs a supra rollin in at 70 on the highway, and the supra downshifts, hits nos, hayabusas get on it in a second and blow by the supra like its parked. It was hilarious.

I am going ot check out a gxsr too, since htere isn't much room around here to get the bike really flyin, and they are cheaper.

If you don't get one until next year, get one around winter time, and just before all the 06 bikes come out. A bike will run maybe $1000 less then.

After you get your bike permit *which I suggest is ASAP* have you and your dad go to a dealship and test drive one. But if you lay it down, you either fix it, or buy it.

I've test driven a GSX-R 600 before. There's a huge Open stretch between Olathe Suzuki and the entrance thingy for the road. 102mph on a bike is so fun but scary fast.

One more thing. Always use the front brake. Don't pull to much either. Once the brake "clicks" *sounds alot like a microswitch* then don't pull anymore. If you do you'll most likely end up doing a stoppie. Really just ease in on the brake.

Also try not to powershift, it's no fun.

I'm not sure, I don't even have mine. Some states you need a regular license to get one, other you don't.

I'd just go to your local DMV and ask them.

around here you have to take a course like you would to get your drivers liscence.

and 1337...when my friend with the GSXR600 first got it, his first crash was hitting the front brake too hard. He said he was used to the brakes on his dirtbike so he flipped the bike forward. Didn't have it for more than a day, it was hilarious.

snip3r...if you haven't ridden many crotch rockets before and dont have much experience, i wouldn't get a hayabusa as your first bike. Get something under 1000cc's first unless you have enough experience on high powered bikes. My first bike is most likely going to be a GSXR600...then I am going to work my way up in power.

Saw some idiot on a Ninja today, he tried to do a 12:00 wheelie (if you dont know what that is, its when the bike stands straight up in the air either having the tail light or wheelie bar touch the ground) in a parking lot, but he gave it too much gas and flipped right over. The exhaust was all messed up but it was hilarious...he just hopped back on and rode off. Some of the people that ride around here are stupid. I am suprised I never see **** in the newspaper about one of them gettin killed or seriously injured from the crap they try to pull.

What an idiot. If he dosen't know there's a huge difference in crotch rockets and dirtbikes he shouldn't even ride.
