Roll Pan Help
I think its about time to spend some cash on the Dakota. The rear bumper has been the only thing I don't like about the truck so far, and I'm thinking about getting a roll pan put on. I don't really know which way to go about it though so this is where PbF comes in.
I was wondering if anyone knew pricing on getting either a fiberglass molded in or a steel pan welded in, cause nobody likes that gap. I can't decide between steel or fiberglass. Fiberglass is about $75-$100 cheaper but would probably crack pretty soon.
I was also thinking about cutting some holes in the roll pan for a dual exhaust setup. The Dodge right now is single exhaust so how rough would it be to put a dual on. I'm proably about to call some local body shops and see if they could give me some prices.
The last thing is the license plate. I don't really want to have the plate on the roll pan but I don't have many choices. I was thinking about getting it frenched into the tailgate at an angle. Any comments on this would be greatly appriceated.

License Plate Idea
The last picture is how I was thinking about doing my License Plate. The only difference is I would have mine centered horizontally. And now some eye candy to give you guys an idea of what the exhaust and license plate might look like because I was bored.

id go with metal, fiberglass would probally crack
and as far as exhaust, youd need a Y pipe so it would go out to 2, but u might loose backpressure and some low end torque

go with metal it will last longer the fiberglass pans crack pretty easy even a hard bump can crack em i would go with a sir michaels metal roll pan very high quality and if its welded up right you wont have any problems out of it
now you want to rock the frenched license plate not to hard to do yourself but make sure you get a kit for it for suicidedoors.com it will run you about 20 bux and for the spot you want it in you are going to have to shave the tailgate handle which is a ***** and you will need a handle flip kit i think its about 20-30 bux but if you dont have to drop your tailgat you could always get a tailgate skin and weld the whole thing up
here where you can get your roll pan

frenched license plate kits and handle flip kits here

heres a pic of my shaved tailgate and frenched license plate

How hard is it to install a relocator handle? I think I might just get a steel pan, french the license plate, and relocate the handle then hold out on getting everything painted untill I save up some more cash. Also, I have a Pedaliner drop-in bedliner right now. I guess I would have to remove the part on the tailgate to relocate the handle. Need to get a guy with a heat gun so I can take off all the decals while I'm at it.

the handle relocator is not too hard you have to cut out a hole on the inside of the tailgate but you should be able to take that pannel off and take the sawzall to it and you can just leave the bedliner attached because you will have to cut a hole in it too and personly i would lose the drop in bedliner and do the roll in bedliner i did mine a couple weeks ago for about 50buxs and it looks good are planing on lowering it, lifting it, or keeping it stock height what else do you have planned for it

I'm only 16 right now so I'm kinda limited on the funds. I will probably keep it stock height because I don't have that much ground clearence as it is. When I get finished I would like to have a hard tonnaue cover, shaved doors, tonnaue, and tailgate. Along with all the things I have mentioned here. And then paint the whole thing black. When I'm finished with that I would do some basic performance mods: intake, exhaust, ecu tune, and headers. I doubt I will ever get most of this done; however, I think I'm going in to the military after school so I'm just going to pour my money into this.

I just called one shop and asked about getting the driver and passenger side doors shaved. He said it would cost $200 per door without paint. Thats just the body work. Is this a price I should expect to pay? I saw on a show once that a guy ordered filler plates pre-cut for his door handles. Anyone know a site that sells them; I tried google but didn't get anything. I was thinking if I could get some premade ones I can weld them in myself and save a bunch of cash.
I also called another shop and he said about $75, but I don't really think it would be good work. He didn't sound like he knew much about metal work.

call jason at suicidedoors.com and if he doesnt have em in stock he will make em for ya filler plates for an s10 go for 7bux so if he had to make em it shouldnt be more than 15-20 dollars
you could make your own filler plates too just take you door handle off and cut out a piece of cardboard the same size then trace that onto sheet metal
