i have alot planned for the audio part of it muhahahaha
edit: first thing i gotta do is scrape that rack off the roof lol

I have the same year, but it’s the GMC Jimmy and has the electronic shift on the fly 4x4, pretty much the same though. I purchased it for $2000 too, for winter time so I don't have to drive my Saleen through the snow. They are nice trucks, not much pick-up when you’re going around 40+ but that is in most cars. I have a feeling you will like it.
Is there much rust or bubbling at the bottom of the front door panels and above the front fender? These trucks where notorious for that, mine has a little rust on the door panels and bubbling under the paint above the front fenders. Plus the tailgate hinges are a bit rusty. If you don't have it yet, keep your eye out for it so you can stop it before it gets too bad.
One other neg. about it, this might just be mine, but it seams as if the headlights are aligned facing down into the ground, so at night you can only see about 20 feet in front of you. It's pretty dangerous. I'm sure I could fix that pretty easy, I'm just too lazy.
All in all, a very nice truck, you should like it

Watch your foot on these things though. It is fun to drive, but if you slam it a lot, it sucks up the gas REALLY fast.

welcome to the club bro!
i am rollin an 89' S-10 Blazer... same body... got a 4.3 liter fuel injected engine... but no vortec (wasn't around)
getting about 24 MPG on it... and got about 220k miles on it... and it still runs like a charm
also watch out for the A/C and brakes on them... the A/C in my truck has been ****ing up alot... but it's alot older then urs... and the Brakes are sometimes ifish... but they are Def. a fun to drive truck
and for the love of god don't lift it... a lifted 2wd truck is as pointless as spinner hubcaps...
and jim, the only rust on my truck is on the hood... it's starting to bubble and all that good stuff... but in 2 months, it's gonna get a shiney new coat of paint
i will get a pic of mine here shortly...
