i know a lot of you know about car audio stuff..heres the story, im in a trade where im getting 2 rsw80 roadmaster subs (each in their own box)

8" Subwoofer
• 200 Watts Instantaneous Peak Power
• Spun Aluminum Speaker Cone
• Quick Connect Terminals
• 30 Oz. AINiCo Magnet
• 4 Ohm Impedence
• 1.5" ASV Dual Voice Coil

thats the specs on the site...what i need to know is what else i need to get/buy for it...im already looking up a better stereo...just list the stuff i should buy because my auto shop teacher said he'd help me install it...(ive been thinking about going the best buy way to pay for them to install it) does anybody know if theyll do free installation if you buy the product from their shop?

edit: also how much volatage would i need on the amp? if each sub has 200 watts do i need a 400 watt amp?

Ok roadmaster subs are, like bottom of the barrel brand. But you can still make them hit...a little. But they will do for right now. What are you installing them in?

Yea if you actually put 200 watts to them, they'll blow fast. There are really 2 kinds of watts. True watts and generic watts. Anytime you have generic equipment, you have to go by generic watts. For instance your "roadmaster" subs say they'll take 200 watts. If you where to put a real 200 watt amp(fosgate, kicker, JL etc) to them they won't last long. You could probably get a generic 200 watt amp and be ok. You see, generic car sterio brands way over rate their amps and subs. If you where to hook a fosgate 450watt amp and am 800 watt pyramid amp to the same speakers, the fosgate amp will hit waaaayyyyyy harder because it is actually putting out 450 watts where as the pyramid is lucky to hit 350. Make sense?

Ok I'd say get a bandpass but you are gonna lose patience with those 8"roadmasters real quick and want 10's or 12's. Ditch those and get 2 Rockford 12,s in a bandpass box and slap a 200 watt rockford on them you'd be beating like hell. Whole setup might cost $350 from the pawn shop but it would bump. But you could put a 300 watt BOSS amp on there and maybe last a month.

roadmasters are the worst of the worst.. my brother has some underpowered by about 80 atts and they still burn like instantaneously.. they smell like they're melting after about 15 minutes of constant play..

WELL...i traded these for something i didnt want (messed up ipod) and im on a low budget, so show me an amp that would be good for these (for now) and work for bigger subs later that i might buy...

Also im on a low budget...VERY low..like <200...so if someone could help me out by posting a site or knows someone whos selling...btw how much do you think i could get for the 8'' subs (each in their own box)

Dude we are trying to tell you, at least i am "Dont put those things in your car". They would sound better hooked up to the stereo in your room to supplement your system.
Get a Pioneer CD player 100 bucks and replace the rear deck speakers of your car (prolly 6x9's or 5x7/6x8)with some 2 way pioneer $50 at wally world. After that the Higher wattage CD player will sound really good. And go from there.

thanx a lot smitty..so you're just saying get a good stereo setup, and to get some new speakers for the back of my car...alright..hook me up with a PM about wally world, never heard of it..do you think if i bought the cd player from like best buy or something that theyd hook it up for me for free

lmfao, those roadmasters are those speakers they sell at walmart....2+box for like 20 bucks. it will sound like ass.

Wally world= wal mart. You should be able to get a pioneer CD player with about 45 watts per channel for about $100 there. And 2 way rear deck pioneers for about $60 there as well. Then save up for some more door speakers then save up some more and get some bump for the trunk. Go pioneer for the whole system except for the trunk. When you are ready to do the trunk give me a holler and I'll help you with that. Hell you could take a short road trip and we could install it....and play some PB. I should be moved into my new house in less than a month. Nobody hooks anything up for free. Its really easy to do though. If you want I can install it for you. Just bring a few bucks to pay for any wires we might need and buy me a 12 pack of Corona.

I got my impy, my tippy and Kats EVO, You need to bring a mask and a fast hopper for the tippy. But its gonna be a month before we get to move into our house and get setup so buy some gear. I know of tons of places to play outlaw ball. I just need to find a place to fill my HPA tanks.

I hooked my friend up with a 600 watt amp *[pretty sure it was 600]*, a nice Pioneer headunit, and a nice JL Audio 10" sub for 280. I got a friend that works at the Pawn Shop so I get pretty good hookups.

I already got my Aiwa headunit and I'm going to buy 2 nice 12's and a decent amp.

Those roadmasters are crappy... Hell this is just what I do. My headunit has Hyper-Bass and it puts tons of watts to the rear speakers. Sounds real nice dosen't hit nearly as hard as a sub but it still hits pretty decent.
