Judging by how late the horsepower peaks, and how the torque doesn't peak until about 4500rpm (suggesting turbo lag), and the SQV sticker (which refers to a blowoff valve) confirms the turbo, I'm gonna say its a Turbo'd 4 cylinder....idk, STI with a full exhaust and a head job.
Definately Turbo
Definately 4-cyl
Which means its definately an import

Dodge SRT 4, lol forgot about that one. Then again, I guess you could turbo a Cavalier...are those the only two 4 cyl domestics worth turboing? Sunfire? lol

Pretty much yea lol... all the other ones are just slow regardless if you dumped a grand into it or not. The neons (both first and second gen) actually respond very well to build ups... but then again we are talking about MOPAR baby!
any ways here is the prize.....

SRT-4 with forged pistons/rods and about 30psi or so, if it was an import it wouldn't have the torque.
Edit-Whoops, too late.

Then he definately doesn't run it at full boost all the time. The 2.4L can't handle much more more than a constant 300RWHP safely without forged pistons.

The stock pistons of an SRT-4 will actually hold up to 25-30PSI of boost. The motor is basically the same as that you will find in a Stratus or other Dodge car its a 2.4 block with some good pistons from factory. The internals alone from an SRT-4 are an upgrade for a frist gen turbo neon

The stock pistons in the SRT-4 are hypertonic pistons. They have a better fit and less expansion than stock pistons in the Stratus and can therefore hold more pressure. However, they don't hold up as well as forged pistons to high boost and especially not well to N20. A few races at 30 psi or so isn't very good for them and I definately wouldn't run around with it set at 30+ all the time. Mopars stage 3 kit uses stock internals for 300hp/300lb-ft tq and that is about 22 peak psi, that is almost the max Dodge considers safe on the stock pistons for everyday use. One can get away with 30, but I wouldn't think it would last very long.
(I do know a bit about the SRT-4, I went to school with a few kids that had them, one bright yellow one in fact that we all jokingly called the "naner" )

LOL the naner... we called that yellow one above the same thing.
I understand wht your saying but from what myself and my room mate have read and talk to people in neon forum and events we have both seen the stock internals holding up to at least a safe daily pressure of 20-25psi. The information Dodge/Mopar gives is for warranty reasons. they wouldnt say stock could handle that much PSI constantly and have somebody poop the parts out. Regardless though the knowledge between us ( you and me)is plenty to understand the basics of most vehicles

True. I always went by manufacture's saftey ratings for stock. But, then again, ford rates my car to a safe 1,000hp on stock internals, so I personally don't really have a problem going by them.
Anyway, on the SRT-4, personally I wouldn't go over 25psi on stock internals to be safe. Especially if you really beat on your car (like I do with the Mazda, which is why I had to replace the coils and plugs at 30,000 miles ). I guess it all comes down to how you treat the car, you could get away with 100 peak psi if you never rev high enough for it to kick in.

On a side note, the SRT-4 and the RX7/8 are probably the only "ricer type" cars I would buy. I'm not a big fan of cars like the WRX or EVO for a few reasons, and while there are certain things I don't like about the SRT-4, I think it is the best of the bunch, and not just because it is American with a Mitsu turbo (I like Mitsubishi heavy equipment, which is all turbo diesels).

I will never own any RX-7 in my entire life, unless it has had a motor swap.
Cool neon.

That's one of the reasons why I love the Wankel, I get to put oil in it as well as gas and I get to search for a mechanic that might be able to work on it. I would never own one as a daily driver, but as a toy I would consider it. I really do think there is a lot of potential in the design.

My friend bought a 93 RX-7 a couple months ago. Us thinking that snce it only had 40k something miles on it. Pretty good buy. Did your typical maintenance and crap since it was idling a little high and rough etc.
To say the least. The motor has been pulled 3 times going on 4. The third time we went ahead and did a whole bunch of aftermarket addons ie:don't know if it was a NOS turbo or aftermarket upgrade with 3"downpipe and Greddy exhasut, intake, injectors, custom tune witha Apexi Commander something or other. It ran like a bat out of hell for a day and has now been sitting on stands for 2 weeks.
We're now gonna put an LS1 in it.
