Here are the current truck offerings, in Diesel, for the big three. I did it for somewhere else, but I thought some of you guys would like to read it:

Keep in mind the GM and Dodge can be bumped up 125hp and 300lb-tq, and the Ford up 140hp and 240lb-ft tq with just a tune as long as you arn't hauling/towing.
Think about that, that Chevy could have 485hp/950lb-ft tq with no mechanical work at all.

in my autoshop class at school we are lifting a Chevy 05 3500 duallie 6 inches. The big trucks are very nice to work on because there is so much fricking room under there. No problems at all removing stock parts and replacing them with the new lift kit. I will have to wait until the end of the week when we get it done so i can drive it around the parking lot and ill let you all know how it feels. Ill tell you one thing tho. Ive riden in a 2004 F-350 crew cab and it was soooo much nicer inside compared to the chevy and the Ford wasnt even the King ranch. I understand these are work trucks but chevy shouldnt skimp out so much on the interiors. Im 6'4 and the Ford also has better leg room in the rear.

Already have one.
And those tune bumps are just the mild ones.
There's the Crazy Larry and TSTs.
And unlike gas motors. The programmers are stackable.

The 7.3L was a much better motor. Everyone I know that had one and now has a 6.0L hates the 6.0L.

Depends, some areas they bump up the price. Normally diesel is cheaper than gas since it is less refined and easier to make. Plus you can use biodiesel, which cost very little to make depending on how cheap you can get the used oil. Or, you could run dyed diesel (heating oil), which is illegal for on road use if they catch ya, but much cheaper.
Now, with diesel you usually get double the mileage of gas, double the torque, and three times the durability and longevity. I wouldn't mind paying an extra few cents a gallon for that.

how does one get ahold of bio-diesel if the station around you doesn't sell?
can you buy it by the barrel?

The first diesels were run on peanut oil.
However today biodiesel is just processed cooking oils etc. You can make this at home using a homemade setup or you can buy a premanufactured one.
Although, with how much I drive I couldnt keep up with the process to make the stuff fast enough. Plus I don't really see the huge benefit in savings and in my time to make the stuff. Plus Cummins has yet to come back on where they stand on teh use of bio diesel. They don't say it's bad and dont use it, just they havent done enough long term analysis etc to know if they would fuly warranty or say that it is ok.

I prefer the GMC front end to the regular Chevy front end, always was the better looking of the two. I don't like the lack of chrome on new trucks though. Plastic bumpers are really fugly, especially after they have been driven for a while. I wish they would go back to the '92-'99 style, it reminded me a lot of the 1960's/70's trucks with a little bit cleaner lines. Dodge has gotten ugly too, the previous body style was amazing. The only one that I think looks any good now is the Ford, but it is a bit too "fat" looking. All of them try to round every corner now. It improves the aerodynamics, but makes it look ugly. Trucks are meant to have that square look to them, if they were meant to be round they would be trucks, they would be vans. Look at the new Durango, it's a fugly mini-van with a fake hemi.
