The decision! R6 or GSX-R
I really cannot decide, and the time to buy is coming in a month.
From what I've gathered, a quite general comparison is the R6 is a little slower, and a bit more comfy for casual riding. The GSX-R is fast, but puts you at much more of a racing lean and feel all the time.
Basicly I like speed, and I like comfort. I'm starting to lean towards the R6 from what I've heard about comfort(since It doesn't seem like the GSX-R will be THAT much faster).
Keep in mind this will be a commuting bike AND a pleasure bike. I do not plan on bringing it to the track except for maybe once or twice just to see what I can do.
Any opinions?

Have you ever rode motorcycle before? How many years of Experience do you have?
If your just starting out and are willing to kill yourself...get the gixxer...otherwise the R6 is still a good bike you could get killed on. Rockets arent meant for starters, but since your looking at a gixxer I assume you have riding experience.
If your commuting and pleasure, The R6 will do you perfectly and they ride fairly well.

check out the other threads in this section, you'll see that he has a 250 and wants a 600
with what i've heard about modern 600's, it's basically about looks, brand, and color. they're pretty close to the same, so you just pick which looks best or which brand you want more

There are some major difference in the new models out there, all the manufacturers are pushing new design technology in the frames and suspension tuning. In the 600 class, powerband, weight, handling and overall ride quality, there are differences, you just need to know how to find and notice them.
check this site out for some good input on the overall quality of your choices;

Hard decision... my 2 favorite bikes.
I've actually ridden a GSX-R 600 and loved it.
I'd go with the GSX-R because its more of a race bike, a bit faster, and is generally cheaper. The YZFs are usually a grand or 2 more. I also like how the GSX-R looks over the R6.

I will be buying new, I figure this is a perfect chance to start building credit. Gonna finance a new bike.
And I know most of the specs and such...I'm basicly completely split on what I want. I can't even tell which one I like the looks of better...both are so damn hot.
I know either bike is going to be awesome, just looking for some input of what you guys think
*nice links swat thx

the R6 is more geared to perform on the track but tends to be a little more comfortable to ride. the gixxer is easier to handle around town but might be a bit slower than the R6

QFT
One of my friends bought a GSX-R last year (red and black) and that thing was awesome. He was an idiot for buying it though, first street bike he ever owned. He said that since he raced motocross he would be fine. Turning on dirtbikes and streebikes are completely different, Jake (my friend) fount that out the hard way...not to mention after that, started downloading a bunch of the stunt bike videos. He said "Oh well that stuff doesn't look to hard"....what a moron. He comepletely wrecked his bike on the highway when he tried to do a wheelie while sitting on his gas tank with his feet over the handle bars.
I would pick the GSX-R. Before he completely wrecked his, I wrode it a little around town and loved it. I have some experience with streetbikes, but that was the first time I was on a 600 or bigger. Very nice bikes.

Suzuki makes very nice bikes. Take the Hayabusa for example. Wow, those things are incredibly fast. Saw one at the PSP Chicago Open actually...

To the right of it, is the Honda CBR1000RR...

The CBR1000RR is no slouch either.
A guy that worked construction for our landscaping place has one...and he can pull all kindsa **** (stunts and such) with that thing.

I think zpyro said it well when commenting on buying a hayabusa.
